It was a great honour and privilege to represent India at the ASGRS–TSGRS Annual Meeting 2026, held on June 27–28, 2026, in Taipei, Taiwan.

I was delighted to present the topic, “Robotic Surgery in India – Transitioning from Technology Adoption to Surgical Excellence,” highlighting India’s evolving landscape in robotic gynecologic surgery, our progress, current challenges, and the exciting future ahead.

The meeting brought together leading robotic surgeons from across Asia, providing an outstanding platform for scientific exchange, collaboration, and sharing of experiences to advance the field of minimally invasive gynecologic surgery.

My heartfelt gratitude to Prof. Hung-Cheng Lai, President, TSGRS, for the warm invitation and gracious hospitality. I also extend my sincere thanks to the Scientific Committee for giving me the opportunity to share India’s journey in robotic gynecologic surgery.

500 Robotic Cases in 3 Years – A Journey of Trust, Teamwork, and Gratitude

As I reflect on 500 robotic surgeries completed over the last 3 years, I am filled with gratitude.

This milestone is not just about numbers—it is about the women who trusted me during some of the most important moments of their lives. Their faith has been the greatest privilege of my career.

I am deeply thankful to my incredible team—colleagues, anesthetists, nurses, OT technicians, robotic coordinators, fellows, and support staff. Every successful surgery is the result of teamwork and shared dedication.

Thank you to my mentors for their guidance, my students and fellows for inspiring continuous learning, and my family and friends for their unwavering support.
To my trainees and fellows, thank you for being far more than students. Your curiosity, enthusiasm, dedication, and constant pursuit of excellence have challenged me to keep learning and growing every day.

Over these three years, I have witnessed how robotic surgery can transform lives, helping women recover faster and regain hope.

This milestone belongs to everyone who has been part of the journey.

Thank you for your trust and support. The first 500 cases are a milestone—but the real achievement is the trust behind them.

24 hours after robotic surgery, seeing our patient smiling, comfortable, and recovering well is the greatest reward. Even more special when the patient is the mother of Dr.Joan who was once my junior resident.

Medicine comes full circle in beautiful ways — from mentoring a young doctor to now caring for her mother with trust and confidence.

Our research paper titled “Balancing Fertility and Oncologic Uncertainty: Robotic Myomectomy With Bilateral Uterine Artery Ligation for Smooth Muscle Tumor of Uncertain Malignant Potential (STUMP)” has been officially published in the Cureus Journal of Medical Science.

This publication highlights the evolving possibilities of robotic gynecologic surgery in preserving fertility while addressing complex oncologic challenges. A significant milestone in advancing minimally invasive gynecologic care and clinical research.

Proud to be a part of OGSSICON 2026 – 42nd Annual Conference by the Obstetric & Gynaecological Society of Southern India.

An insightful session delivered at the LAP & Gynobotics Workshop on the theme “Minimally Invasive, Maximally Beneficial” held at Hyatt Regency, Chennai.

The session focused on “Robotic Management of Pelvic Floor Defects ”, highlighting the precision and advancement of robotic surgery in complex gynaecological procedures.

Happy to be a part of this platform and truly glad to reconnect with many of our mentees and others from our robotic programs—hearing their journeys and experiences was incredibly fulfilling.
