Wish you an Auspicious & Blessed Guru Purnima
🕉️❤️🙏

On this sacred occasion of Guru Purnima, let us pause… not only to honour the Guru, but to reflect on what it truly means to be a disciple. 🧘

A Guru is not merely a teacher who gives information.

A Guru is the one who removes Māyā—the veil of illusion, ignorance, and false identification that prevents us from seeing our true nature.

A true Guru helps us remember who we really are.

Beyond our name and identity.
Beyond our fears and desires.
Beyond success and failure.

The Guru gently guides us towards our true Self, our true Dharma, our true character, our true potential, and our true purpose. When this understanding awakens, our thoughts, actions, and karma naturally begin to align with that higher truth.

The grace of the Guru is boundless, compassionate, and ever-present.

But today, perhaps the deeper question is not:

“Where can I find a Guru?”

The real question is:

“Am I ready to become a disciple?”

A disciple is one who is humble enough to learn, courageous enough to question the ego, disciplined enough to practise, and sincere enough to embrace truth—even when it challenges old beliefs.

On this auspicious day of Guru Purnima, let us contemplate not on finding a Guru outside, but on cultivating the qualities of a true Śiṣya within.

When the disciple is ready, the Guru appears.

May this Guru Purnima awaken humility, wisdom, devotion, and the light of Self-knowledge in all our hearts.

With gratitude to the eternal Guru Tattva that guides every sincere seeker.

Happy Guru Purnima 🙏🙏🙏

Why Every Home Should Have a Tulsi Plant

In the Indian tradition, Tulsi (Holy Basil) is far more than just a medicinal herb—it is a symbol of purity, devotion, and divine grace. For centuries, families have lovingly nurtured a Tulsi plant in their homes, considering it the living presence of Goddess Tulsi, who is deeply associated with Lord Vishnu.

***The Spiritual Significance:

• Tulsi is believed to create a spiritually uplifting atmosphere that encourages peace, devotion, and mindfulness.

• Offering Tulsi leaves during the worship of Lord Vishnu and Lord Krishna is considered highly auspicious.

• Daily prayers or simply sitting quietly near the Tulsi plant can become a beautiful reminder to pause, reflect, and connect with the divine.

***The Traditional Significance:

• A Tulsi plant has traditionally been placed in the courtyard or entrance of homes, symbolizing purity and positive energy.

• Caring for Tulsi teaches reverence for nature and reminds us that plants are living companions in our daily lives.

• For generations, Tulsi has held an important place in Ayurveda and has been valued for supporting overall well-being as part of a healthy lifestyle.

***A Daily Practice of Gratitude:

Watering the Tulsi plant, lighting a lamp nearby in the evening, or spending a few moments in silent prayer are simple traditions that help cultivate discipline, gratitude, and inner calm.

A home with Tulsi is not just adorned with a sacred plant—it carries a timeless tradition that nurtures the body, mind, and spirit.

We have planted Tulsi all across the campus of SWAN and we also have a Tulsi Vrindavan near our Temple where everyday we light a Diya (earthen pot) 🪔 and chant Tulsi Mantra.

Where Tulsi is cared for with devotion, the home is believed to be blessed with harmony, positivity, and divine grace. 🙏🏻

You may learn all about this when you join our 300 Hours Yoga Teacher Training Course. Starts November first week. DM to know more!!
