WELCOME TO DRISHTI EYE CARE HOSPITAL ( Run By Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Charitable Trust ) Since 2017

Drishti Eye Care Hospital is a community eye hospital (A EYE HOSPITAL FOR EVERY ONE) an eye hospital for all. it was founded in 2017 by a group of dedicated local people including skilled and experienced doctors. THE AIM WAS- To create a permanent, specialist eye hospital accessible to everyone in the c

ommunity, regardless of their ability to pay for cataract surgery. To provide the comprehensive, highest standards of eye care services and treatment to the community for last 6+ years (as2023). and is considered to be the most trusted and preferred eye hospital in the region. With 3 eye clinic plan to build 20+ facilities by 2025 in Bihar and Jharkhand, Drishti is working towards Eliminateing curable blindness, Drishti is a charitable eye hospital 80% of its services are free to the needy (poor) people. To do the best for every patient every day, To respect and allow each member of staff to contribute to planning and decision-making and to resist top-heavy corporate-style management, To maintain a strong community spirit and involvement in our working practice so that we can educate patients about preventable eye conditions. To play our part in the protection of the environment. We led the way in green policies in our area of Bihar with two initiative-
1- BRING PLASTIC AND GET FREE
CATARACT SURGERY.
2- ONE EYE ONE TREE AFTER
CATARACT SURGERY WE'RE
DONATING A TREE TO EACH
POST-OPERATIVE PATIENTS. We constantly monitor and adapt our working practices to minimize pollution to the precious environment of our rural setting. To co-operate and not compete with other community eye hospital in Bihar. WHY WE STARTED? (ONE EYE ONE TREE)

In June 2019, 30 people were brought to our hospital, who had unfortunately passed away due to heatstroke in a single day in Aurangabad, Bihar. We decided to involve the community and patients to understand the importance of tree plantation so that others would not lose their lives due to heatstroke. We encourge people to plant trees now so that future generations can have fresh air to breathe, rainfall, and benefits from food and shade, We educate people about the benifits of tree plantation, and how to reduce pollution and minimize carbon level because there is no Planet B. Since its inception, we have planted over 30+ thousand trees through the patients and community.

Women account for 55-60% of bilateral cataract cases in India.
• Rural women are more affected due to limited access to eye care services
• Women’s cataract surgery rates are lower than men’s, with a male-to-female ratio of 1.3:1. Women with bilateral cataracts often rely on others for daily tasks, leading to decreased autonomy.
2. Reduced economic participation: Blindness or vision impairment can limit women’s ability to work, contributing to poverty.
3. Caregiving burden: Women often care for family members with disabilities, exacerbating their own visual impairment.
4. Social isolation: Vision loss can lead to decreased social interaction, exacerbating feelings of loneliness. support
