Earlier this month, I spent a few days in Kasol, and instead of trying to see everything, do everything, and rush from one place to another, I chose to travel slowly.
There is something incredibly healing about slow travel. Waking up without alarms, sitting by the river for hours, watching the mountains change colors with the light, taking long walks without a destination, and allowing yourself to simply be. In a world that constantly asks us to move faster, slow travel reminds us that life isn’t a race.
This trip wasn’t just about exploring a new place—it was about reconnecting with myself. I have started realizing that travel can be a spiritual practice. Not necessarily through temples, rituals, or ceremonies, but through presence. Through silence. Through stepping away from daily responsibilities and creating space to listen to your own thoughts again.
The mountains have a way of stripping away the noise. They remind you of what truly matters and what doesn’t. They teach patience, stillness, and perspective. Some journeys give you photographs; others give you pieces of yourself back. Kasol gave me both.
Grateful for the rivers, the forests, the mountain air, the unexpected moments, and the reminder that sometimes the most meaningful journeys are the ones that slow us down enough to come home to ourselves.
