Your kidneys do not fail overnight.
They usually whisper for years before they cry for help.

Today, many young people unknowingly expose their kidneys to damage through:
• Frequent painkiller use
• Unregulated gym supplements
• Steroid misuse
• Unknown “herbal” medicines
• Energy/pre-workout drinks
• Fairness creams bought online without proper regulation

The dangerous part?
Kidney disease is often SILENT in the beginning.

By the time swelling, frothy urine, fatigue, high BP, or reduced urine appear — kidney damage may already be significant.

A simple urine test and kidney function test can detect problems early and help prevent dialysis.

Please remember:
“Natural”, “online”, or “viral” does not always mean safe.

Protect your kidneys:
✔ Control diabetes & BP
✔ Avoid unnecessary painkillers/steroids
✔ Use supplements only responsibly
✔ Stay hydrated
✔ Get regular health check-ups

If you have:
• Diabetes
• High BP
• Swelling
• Frothy urine
• Long-term supplement or painkiller use

…please get your kidneys checked.

Awareness today can prevent kidney failure tomorrow.

Many people have heard the word “Lupus,” but very few truly understand how this disease can silently affect the body — and sometimes the kidneys.

Lupus is an autoimmune disease, which means the body’s immune system mistakenly attacks its own organs and tissues.

What makes lupus dangerous is that it can present in many different ways and often gets missed in the early stages.

A person with lupus may present with:
• Joint pains mistaken for “body pain” or arthritis
• Facial rash or skin problems
• Unexplained fever or tiredness
• Hair fall
• Mouth ulcers
• Swelling of legs or face
• Frothy urine due to kidney involvement
• Recurrent low blood counts
• Breathing difficulty or chest pain
• Even neurological symptoms in some cases

Many patients initially keep taking painkillers, steroid injections, or temporary treatments without identifying the real underlying disease. Symptoms may temporarily reduce and then suddenly reappear in a more severe form.

One of the most serious complications is Lupus Nephritis — where lupus affects the kidneys. If not detected early, it can lead to significant kidney damage and even kidney failure.

The important message is:
Early diagnosis can protect organs and save lives.

Simple blood and urine tests, proper medical evaluation, and timely treatment can dramatically improve outcomes. Today, with advances in medicine, many lupus patients can lead healthy and productive lives with regular follow-up and proper care.

Please do not ignore persistent unexplained symptoms, especially in young individuals.

Awareness matters. Early testing matters. Early treatment matters.

A 20-year-old patient with serious kidney disease (Membranous Nephropathy) recently revealed a surprising history — prolonged use of an unregulated fairness cream bought online.

Some unknown skin-lightening creams may contain harmful substances like mercury and steroids, which can silently damage kidneys.

Warning signs:
• Swelling
• Frothy urine
• Fatigue
• High BP

Beauty should never come at the cost of your kidneys.

Today, I saw a young 20-year-old male diagnosed with Membranous Nephropathy — a serious kidney disease causing heavy protein leakage in urine.

While discussing his history in detail, one important clue emerged: he had been using an unregulated “fairness cream” purchased through an Instagram advertisement from an unknown brand.

This prompted me to share an important public health message.

Many people are unaware that some unregulated skin-lightening/fairness creams may contain harmful substances such as mercury, steroids, and other toxic chemicals. Emerging medical evidence from across the world has linked prolonged exposure to such products with kidney diseases including Membranous Nephropathy, nephrotic syndrome, and kidney damage.

The worrying part is that these products are widely marketed aggressively on social media platforms and are often used without medical supervision.

Please be cautious before using unknown cosmetic products purchased online.

Warning signs of kidney damage may include:
• Swelling of legs or face
• Frothy urine
• Fatigue
• Weight gain
• High blood pressure

Beauty should never come at the cost of your kidneys.

If you or someone you know has been using such products for prolonged periods and develops swelling or urinary abnormalities, please consult a qualified doctor and get basic kidney tests done.

Awareness can prevent irreversible kidney damage.

How Quick Delivery Apps Are Quietly Rewiring Young Minds for a Brighter Tomorrow

We once feared that machines would take away our jobs, but what we didn’t see coming was that apps would unlock unprecedented opportunities for growth. Today’s quick-delivery platforms — Zepto, Swiggy Instamart, Blinkit, Dunzo — have transformed convenience into a lifestyle, inspiring a new generation of entrepreneurs, innovators, and leaders.

A ten-minute promise sounds harmless, even magical, and it’s a testament to human ingenuity. Behind it lies a remarkable social and neuro-behavioral shift, one that holds immense potential for positive change.

Every ping of a delivery notification releases a tiny burst of dopamine, motivating customers and riders alike to strive for excellence. Both are part of a dynamic loop — one of instant expectation, the other of instant fulfillment.

As a doctor, I see the effects daily: young riders in their twenties with a sense of purpose, drive, and determination. They’re building valuable skills, networking, and learning to navigate the challenges of the modern world.

The irony is beautiful — those who deliver nutrition and comfort to others are, in turn, nourished by a sense of fulfillment and belonging.

These are the years when young minds should be building skills, and they are. Learning trades, crafts, or professions that grow with time — plumbing, welding, electrical work, nursing, paramedical training — creates dignity, direction, and a sense of pride.

And this is not just their gain — it’s ours as a society. A nation with a billion young citizens is poised for greatness, with its youth empowered to drive positive change.

If you’re a parent, teacher, or policymaker — talk about this. If you’re young — pause for a moment. Step off the digital treadmill. Learn something real. Heal your mind. Build something that outlasts your shift.

The future needs healthier, skilled, and mindful humans, and it’s up to us to make it happen.
