Akshadhaa Foundation School Akshadhaa Foundation is registered as not for profit trust in 2012 and is working boldly for children in the spectrum with varied interventions.

Registered not for profit trust,that is working with children with autism and other neuro-developmental disability, providing therapeutic interventions, life skill training & vocation skill training leading them towards meaningful engagement & employment. The parents are getting training and opportunities to learn strategies to work with their children to keep a smooth and generalized approach of teaching. The foundation runs a school program which is also focusing on young adults in the Autism spectrum, imparting pre-vocation skill training of few short listed vocations. Research shows that adults with ASD require considerable supports. Possibly only 15% achieve independence, and another 20% function well in the presence of community based support. This points out the great need for studies, in order to improve the situation for the estimated 65% who are not independent or not “functioning well”. We at Akshadhaa have undertaken different projects
• Creating viable models of vocational units of bakery, industrial laundry, screen printing
• Horticulture unit for therapeutic purpose, training and employability
• Digital and print media training, office assistant training
• House keeping job training
• To reach out more number of children of lower socio economic background through sponsor modules
We would seek guidance and support from individuals and corporate sectors to help us create business modules through digital medium and technology

Imagine Ganesha walking into class one morning.

And honestly, we’d say yes!
Because at Akshadhaa Foundation, learning can look a little different for everyone.
One student learns by watching.
Another learns by doing.
Someone takes a few more tries.
Someone finds a completely new way to solve it.

And that’s the fun part, there’s no single script for learning. 🤍

Just like Ganesha reminds us to stay curious, patient and open to new ways, every little step in learning deserves to be celebrated.

In the world of special education, teaching goes beyond classrooms and lessons. Every teacher, trainer, therapist and team member plays a part in guiding, encouraging and inspiring our learners.

This Teachers’ Day, Akshadhaa Foundation brought everyone together for a day of outbound activities, laughter, connection and celebration. It was a wonderful opportunity to step outside the usual learning spaces, enjoy time together and celebrate the people who make every learning journey special.

🪪 Building a Safe & Respectful Workplace

At Akshadhaa Foundation, creating an inclusive workplace begins with creating a workplace where everyone feels safe, respected, heard and valued.
We recently conducted an engaging POSH Awareness & Sensitisation Session for our workplace associates, facilitated by Ravitha Prabhakaran, Founder & Managing Trustee, Positive Alliance Trust (PAT).

The session helped our team understand workplace rights and responsibilities, recognise inappropriate behaviour, explore reporting and support mechanisms, and reflect on how each of us can contribute to a culture of respect, safety and inclusion.
Because a truly inclusive workplace is not just about inclusion: it is about ensuring everyone feels protected, respected and empowered to participate. 💚

At Akshadhaa Foundation, capacity building is not a one-time training activity—it is an ongoing investment in better practices and better outcomes for children with special needs.

Our recent Capacity Building Programme brought together teachers, trainers, facilitators, and young professionals from Akshadhaa Foundation and Arpana School for Special Education to strengthen their understanding of child-specific assessment, baseline data collection, educational planning, behavioural understanding, and evidence-informed intervention practices.
When we strengthen the people who work directly with children, the impact travels much further than the training room. It reaches classrooms, therapy spaces, families, and—most importantly—the everyday lives of children.
Building professional capacity is one of the most sustainable ways of building quality support systems for children with special needs.

Curious minds. Meaningful questions. A lot to discover. 💙
They came with curiosity, questions and a desire to understand what inclusion looks like beyond the classroom.

29 first year MSW students from LISSAH College, Kozhikode, visited Akshadhaa Foundation as part of our Advocacy initiative, stepping into our spaces to learn about our programs, beneficiaries, community outreach, impact, and our work around advocacy and inclusion.
From understanding the role of social workers to exploring what more can be done, their visit became an exchange of ideas, experiences and possibilities.

Because learning has no boundaries. And when curious minds travel beyond their familiar spaces to understand work happening on the ground, it creates conversations that matter.
At Akshadhaa, we are proud to share what we do, what we have built and the possibilities we continue to create. 🌱

Every volunteer engagement reminds us that inclusion is not about helping someone. It is about learning, understanding, and growing together. When people work, create, laugh, and learn side by side, labels begin to fade and meaningful human connections take their place.

Our students gained confidence, built new friendships, and showcased their unique strengths, while the volunteers left with a renewed sense of gratitude, fresh perspectives, and a deeper appreciation that everyone has something valuable to contribute.
A heartfelt thank you to the Trimont team for their enthusiasm and participation, and to Rina Singh for making this collaboration possible. Special thanks to the dedicated Akshadhaa Foundation team for coordinating the engagement across 8 workstations in our two vocational centres, bringing together 32 volunteers and 48 students for a truly enriching experience.

We look forward to many more opportunities to build an inclusive community where everyone learns, contributes, and grows together. 💚
