Is every breast lump cancer? No. 🌸

Finding a lump in your breast can be scary, but not every breast lump is cancerous. Cysts, fibroadenomas and hormonal changes can also cause lumps.

However, a new or unusual breast lump should not be ignored. A doctor may recommend a clinical examination, ultrasound, mammogram or biopsy depending on your age and the findings.

💗 Don’t panic. Don’t ignore it. Get it checked.

Early evaluation can provide clarity and the right next step.

As a Breast & Gynae Cancer Surgeon, I often remind women that breastfeeding is not only one of the greatest gifts for a baby, it is also an investment in a mother's long-term health.

Scientific evidence shows that breastfeeding is associated with a lower risk of developing breast cancer, with the protective benefit increasing with longer breastfeeding duration.

It supports healthy hormonal changes, allows breast tissue to mature naturally, and contributes to overall breast health.

This World Breastfeeding Week, let's celebrate every mother who chooses and is able to breastfeed, while also supporting those who face challenges on their breastfeeding journey. Every mother's experience is unique, and every effort deserves understanding, encouragement, and respect.
