# Robotic Knee Replacement. Its here to stay. I got to perform the first Robotic Bilateral Knee Replacement Surgery today using our new robot at our Manipal Hospitals, Old Aiport Road, Bangalore. Our Manipal Hospital has procured the Stryker Mako Robotic system for performing Joint Replacement Surgeries.

I had previously done unilateral (one sided) Robotic knee a few months ago with a robot during our trial wherein we checked all the available top robots. We zeroed in on the Mako system as it is capable of helping us do knee, hip and partial knee replacement surgeries. This is a new milestone for our Hospital as we are using this new Technology to improve Surgical Precision and patient care.

The advantages of robotic surgery includes, minimal surgical dissection, highly precise bone cuts and implant placement and faster patient recovery.

Donned 3 hats today. First was the hat of a 10K runner. Ran the TCS 10K. Lot of people and unbelievable energy. Enjoyed it thoroughly. The second hat was of a music lover & singer. Then was my time at the saptasur musical event singing a couple of songs. The third was a hat of an academician. The day ended with a talk on sports injury at an orthopaedic meeting in the evening. A day well spent.
Feeling really fullfilled and blissful.

Great time for academics and meeting friends at the Annual conference of the Association of Pelvi acetabular surgeons at Belagavi, the last 3 days. Feels good to be among peers who are the best Pelviacetabular surgeons. Wonderful to listen to worldclass talks, present my scientific work, get my students to present papers and meet colleagues from across India and abroad.
Great hospitality and very good scientific content.
