12 year old girl with a progressive deformity and shortening of her right femur.
Cause- growth arrest secondary to bone infection in early childhood
Unable to walk much, severe limp.
Underwent combined femoral deformity correction and lengthening by Ilizarov method

Active and mobile during the treatment phase.

Outcome- normal length, no deformity, good range of movement, improving muscle strength and return to all activities including sports

Sharing details of a complex deformity correction. Difficulties included the severity of the deformity, deformity in an oblique plane, inability to get proper focussed ap and lateral views, adherent skin, and 8 cm of shortening. In addition, the knee was voluntarily subluxated and the hindfoot was in valgus in an attempt to compensate for the deformity and to allow ambulation.

Cause being post-osteomyelitis growth arrest of proximal tibia.
