International Overdose Awareness Day on 31 August highlights the global scale of drug use and the persistent gap in access to treatment.

In 2024, 331 million people worldwide used drugs—a 34% increase compared with 2014. Yet only 1 in 12 people living with drug use disorders received treatment.

Addiction is a multidimensional health condition that may affect not only behavior, but also sleep, mood, stress response and autonomic balance.

In a randomized controlled study involving 114 men with alcohol dependence, the active taVNS group showed better sleep-quality scores and lower depressive-symptom scores than the control group after four weeks.

Research into the potential role of tVNS in addiction-related conditions is ongoing.

Depression can manifest through a wide range of symptoms, including loss of energy, lack of motivation, sleep disturbances, difficulty concentrating, and withdrawal from daily life.

tVNS® is a non-invasive neuromodulation method that stimulates the auricular branch of the vagus nerve through a small electrode placed on the ear. In the field of depression, it is being evaluated for its potential to support areas such as mood, stress response, sleep, anxiety, and motivation.

tVNS® can be used at home, with the treatment plan tailored to the individual’s needs and clinical condition.

We are pleased to announce that tVNS® will participate in IFESS Conference 2026 as a Silver Sponsor, taking place on 2–4 September at the Politecnico di Milano, Lecco Campus.

Under the theme “From Lab to Life,” IFESS 2026 will bring together researchers, clinicians, physiotherapists and engineers to explore emerging electrical stimulation technologies in neurorehabilitation and neuromodulation.

We look forward to presenting our non-invasive auricular vagus nerve stimulation device for clinical, research and rehabilitation applications.

See you in Lecco!

With tVNS®, vagus nerve stimulation for epilepsy can be delivered non-invasively through the ear, offering an alternative to surgical implantation.

In a clinical study involving the University of Marburg, 76 participants with drug-resistant epilepsy were followed for 20 weeks. The study evaluated the effects of tVNS® on seizure frequency, safety, and treatment tolerability.

The findings showed a reduction in seizure frequency in the active tVNS® group, while the treatment was reported to be generally well tolerated.

Applied without the need for surgery, tVNS® is an innovative neuromodulation approach suitable for home use, easy to integrate into daily life, and designed to support long-term use.

The vagus nerve creates an important communication pathway between the brain and the systems involved in stress, mood, sleep, and recovery.

tVNS® delivers gentle electrical impulses through the ear to support this pathway, helping the body regulate itself more effectively during periods of stress or imbalance.

Don’t let migraine disrupt your plans.

Chronic migraine can make even simple plans difficult due to the frequency and unpredictability of attacks.

tVNS® may help reduce the number of migraine days and the frequency of attacks over time. By supporting the nervous system through regular stimulation, it may contribute to a more predictable and flexible everyday life.
