One of the biggest misconceptions about acupuncture is that it has to be painful.
Acupuncture needles are extremely fine, and treatment is often a much calmer experience than people expect. Depending on the point, you may feel a tiny prick, heaviness, warmth, tingling or a dull sensation — and many people simply relax through the session.
Traditional acupuncture looks at the body as a whole system and works with the principle of restoring balance.
The Five Elements — Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal and Water — are used to understand different patterns and relationships within the body.
🌿 Wood — movement, flexibility and free flow
🔥 Fire — warmth, circulation and vitality
🌍 Earth — nourishment, digestion and stability
⚪ Metal — respiration, rhythm and letting go
💧 Water — reserves, restoration and adaptability
Rather than looking at one symptom in isolation, acupuncture traditionally asks: Where is the imbalance? Where is there excess, deficiency or stagnation?
The points are then selected to help bring the system back toward balance.
Small needles. Quiet treatment. Whole-body approach.
