The power of listening therapy is, amongst many other benefits, the chance to improve our felt sense of wellbeing and safety. When the body is able to relax, that sense makes its way to our conscious awareness.

When we feel better, we think better and live better.

And we can start chipping away at some of our less than positive beliefs gently. These are usually the beliefs that keep us trapped in a negative spirals that darken our views on life.

Curious about how music can be a holistic and gentle alternative, visit www.sonum.co to find out more or book a free discovery call.

Inspired by “Life is precious” exhibit at the Columbus Cultural Arts Center, where this amazing artist depicted incarcerated persons with such humanity that I knew I needed to include her in my presentation.
The incomparable Dr. Gabor Maté spoke of the person behind the behavior in his book: “In the realm of hungry ghosts”.

In my humble contribution to client work in Systemic Listening Therapy, I felt that these paintings were powerful reminders that we are at our best when we seek the person behind the behavior. As Gabor says : “Not why the behavior, but why the pain”. We can do our best work when we come from a place of openness and curiosity!

“Where hope becomes progress ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️”

When we first came to SonumSLT, our son Tejas was navigating a world that felt overwhelming for him in the most literal sense. Loud sounds would trouble him deeply, and his auditory sensitivities made even ordinary environments feel like too much to bare. His focus was poor, emotional regulation was a challenge and sleep troubles at night had become more frequent for him and for us. On top of all this, he was also dealing with speech, delays, learning difficulties, and social challenges…

(Through SonumSLT) we witnessed something we can only describe as a wonderful journey. The auditory sensitivities that once made loud sounds so distressing for Tejas began to ease - he started moving through the world with calmness. His focus, which had once felt so out of reach, grew steadily stronger. Emotional regulation transformed remarkably. He now sleeps so much better and responds more quickly and that alone has changed the quality of life for our day…making our connection with him, feel effortless and joyful.

What sets SonumSLT apart isn’t just the science behind the therapy - though, knowing it is rooted in research into brain, plasticity and auditory processing, gave us tremendous confidence. It is the warmth, the patience, and the deep belief they hold in every child’s inner capacity to heal and grow. At the heart of all of it is Louise Gonzaga, the founder of SonumSLT, whose vision, compassion, and expertise created this truly remarkable space. She never treated Tejas as a checklist of challenges.. She saw him - truly saw him - and built an environment, where he feels safe enough to access his own strengths.

To every parent standing where we once stood, feeling uncertain and exhausted - SonumSLT is where hope becomes progress. We are endlessly grateful to Louise and her wonderful team for this journey and for walking every step of it with us.”
