Overthinking: An Existential Crisis or Self-Sabotage?

Dear overthinker, have you ever wondered how much your fear of failure, catastrophic predictions, and constant comparison are holding you back?

Life is a journey, not a destination. When you spend too much time predicting the worst, you risk missing the opportunities in front of you.

✨ Stop predicting. Start living.
🧠 Challenge your thoughts.
🌱 Replace fear with awareness and action.
💛 Choose progress over perfection.

Your mindset can either become your biggest obstacle or your greatest strength.

Part 2: RAMA, SITA & THE WAY WE JUDGE A MARRIAGE

We often judge Rama and Sita’s relationship through the lens of modern marriage psychology, focusing on their suffering, separation and hardships.

But relationships are more complex than what we see from the outside.

Compatibility isn’t just about romantic happiness. It can also involve shared values, beliefs, responsibilities, emotional alignment and a deeper sense of purpose.

Their relationship existed within the realities of dharma, duty, sacrifice and social responsibility.

From a Vedic psychology perspective, suffering doesn’t automatically mean a lack of love or compatibility. Love can coexist with grief, separation and hardship.

As a Vedic psychologist, I often wonder, if Rama and Sita had openly expressed their emotions through a dialogue as profound as the Bhagavad Gita, would we judge their relationship differently?

We often see the events, but not the context behind them.

Perhaps the lesson is simple: before judging someone’s marriage, look beyond what you see. Context matters.

Part 1:

lesson for us today: before judging someone’s marriage, understand their values, mental alignment, responsibilities, circumstances and what the relationship means to them.

And this brings me to marriage today:

Don’t marry the packaging. Marry the person.

Good looks. Degrees. Money. Family status. Social image.
Impressive on paper—but what happens when the doors close?

Can you talk deeply?
Disagree without disrespect?
Laugh together?
Feel emotionally safe?
Challenge each other’s thinking without threatening the ego?

A beautiful wedding can last a day. A marriage has to survive real life.

Choose someone with whom you can feel seen, heard, respected and connected years later.

The real compatibility test begins after the photographs are over.

Love isn’t always compatibility ‼️

Sometimes, emotional intensity can feel like connection. But healthy relationships also need self-awareness, shared values, and emotional maturity.

Feel deeply. Choose consciously.

Not every relationship role is fair.

When unequal emotional or practical responsibility becomes normalized, it can affect relationship satisfaction and communication. Healthy relationships benefit from shared responsibility, open communication, and mutual accountability.

Everyone you call a friend may not be a TRUE FRIEND.
A true friend isn’t just there for the celebrations, gossip and good times.
They are also there when you are struggling—without judging, competing, dismissing or making your crisis about themselves.
Sometimes, the people closest to us are not necessarily the people who make us feel safe, heard and accepted.
Learn to notice the difference between company and connection, familiarity and genuine friendship.

You deserve relationships where you don’t have to earn your right to be understood.

Perfectionism can become self-sabotage.

When you’re constantly afraid of getting it wrong, you may stop yourself from even trying.

Progress doesn’t require perfection.
It requires action, learning, and the willingness to make mistakes.

✨ Stop waiting to be perfect. Start moving forward.

When Conflict Becomes a Toxic Loop: Blame, Attack & Manipulation

A disagreement begins with one issue, but quickly turns into:
“You always…” → “You never…” → blame → counterattack → emotional manipulation → escalation → temporary silence → the same conflict again.

This is a toxic conflict loop.

Healthy problem-solving requires a shift from attacking the person to addressing the problem.

Instead of:
❌ Blaming
❌ Character attacks
❌ Manipulation
❌ Bringing up old issues
❌ Trying to “win” the argument

Try:
✅ Identify the actual problem
✅ Communicate your feelings without attacking
✅ Listen to understand—not just to respond
✅ Take responsibility for your part
✅ Set clear boundaries
✅ Focus on solutions rather than proving who is right

A healthy relationship doesn’t mean never having conflict.
It means learning how to handle conflict without damaging each other.

If you repeatedly find yourself stuck in the same arguments, the question may not be “Who is wrong?”

The better question is:

“What pattern are we repeating, and how do we change it?”
