We are pleased to share the launch of the Odia version of our Caregiver Animation Series, Moments That Matter, on August 3, 2026.

Created by Bangalore Hospice Trust – Bagchi Karunashraya Palliative Care Centre, the series provides families with simple, practical guidance and builds confidence to care for their loved ones at home.

The series covers essential topics including wound and catheter care, colostomy, lymphoedema, breathlessness, end-of-life care, self-care, feeding tubes, and more — now available in Odia to make caregiver education more accessible.

Another Proud Milestone for Bagchi Karunashraya Palliative Care Centre, Bhubaneswar!

Bagchi Karunashraya Palliative Care Centre, Bhubaneswar, proudly celebrated the launch of two transformative initiatives to strengthen caregiving in India, in the gracious presence of Dr. Prameela Baral, SAG, Directorate of Public Health, Government of Odisha, as the Chief Guest.

Inauguration of the 35th General Duty Assistant (GDA) Batch – bringing together participants from Bengaluru and Bhubaneswar, with this being the first GDA batch in Bhubaneswar. This six-month, fully sponsored programme empowers youth through quality healthcare education, hands-on clinical training, and 100% placement support.

Launch of the Odia version of Moments That Matter – a caregiver education video series that equips families with practical knowledge and confidence to provide compassionate care at home, in their own language.

Together, these initiatives reaffirm Karunashraya’s commitment to empowering both family and professional caregivers and contributing to a stronger, more compassionate healthcare system.

We were honoured that our Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Mathew George Chandy, represented Karunashraya as a delegate at the Annual Event of Mitra Foundation's Jeevan Shakti Manch.

Established in 2013, Jeevan Shakti Manch supports families who have lost, or are at risk of losing, their primary breadwinner to terminal illnesses such as cancer, helping them navigate the emotional and financial challenges they face.

Karunashraya is proud to partner with Mitra Foundation through Jeevan Shakti Manch to support the families of our patients, ensuring they receive not only compassionate palliative care but also much-needed financial and emotional assistance during one of the most difficult phases of life.

We sincerely thank the Mitra Foundation team for the invitation and for their continued commitment to bringing hope, dignity, and strength to families in need. Together, we continue to make a meaningful difference.

Karunashraya Institute for Palliative Care Education and Research (KIPCER) successfully conducted a two-day workshop on "Skills in Neuropalliative Care: Prognostication, Ethics and Communication Skills" on July 18th and 19th, 2026. The workshop in offered as a part of the International Neuropalliative Care Certificate Course (INPCCC) or as a standalone training program.

The workshop brought together 25 healthcare professionals from across the country, including palliative care physicians, neurologists, neuroanesthesiologists, resident doctors, nurses, psychologists, and physiotherapists.

Through interactive sessions, case-based discussions, and role-plays, the 10-hour workshop focused on strengthening prognostication, ethical decision-making, and communication skills in neurological care. Expert faculty members in neurology and palliative care facilitated the workshop. The sessions aimed to provide participants with real world insights into concerns they face during practice and equipped them with the requisite skills to navigate clinically and ethically complex situations.
