Dr. Sharan Shivaraj Patil

Dr. Sharan Shivaraj Patil — Orthopaedic Surgeon, Founder & Chairman of Sparsh Hospitals, dedicated to making advanced orthopaedic care accessible across Karnataka. After training at some of the UK's leading institutions — including Alder Hey Children's Hospital and Liverpool University, where he earned his Mch Ortho as the youngest graduate in the programme's history — he returned to India determined to build a healthcare institution rooted in accessibility and compassion. In 2006, he founded Sparsh Hospital, which has since grown into a multi-speciality hospital network with over 1,200 beds across Tier 1 and Tier 2 cities in Karnataka. Over his career, Dr. Patil has performed more than 20,000+ surgeries, including 10,000+ joint replacements, and has led over 8,000+ major complex procedures in paediatric orthopaedics, and trauma care. Beyond the operating room, Dr. Patil is known for his philanthropic initiatives — SPARSH Vachana, which has provided free surgeries to over 1,500 children with complex disabilities, and Guru Namana, offering free joint replacements to retired rural teachers. He served as President of the Indian Society of Hip and Knee Surgeons (2023–24) and advised the Ministry of Health during the COVID-19 pandemic.
