Pain, swelling or numbness when you raise your arm? Don’t ignore the pattern.
When symptoms appear during overhead activities, they can sometimes be linked to compression of nerves or blood vessels near the collarbone and first rib.
Watch out for symptoms such as:
• Arm pain or swelling
• Heaviness or numbness
• Colour changes in the hand or arm
• Unusual or rapid fatigue
The cause can vary, so proper evaluation is important to understand whether the problem is neurological, venous or arterial.
If these symptoms keep coming back, get them assessed rather than simply working through the discomfort.
