A high Prostate-Specific Antigen (PSA) level doesn't automatically mean prostate cancer. Several non-cancerous conditions can also cause PSA levels to rise.
An enlarged prostate (BPH), prostate infection or inflammation, and age-related changes are all possible reasons for an elevated PSA. While prostate cancer is one cause, your PSA result should always be interpreted alongside your symptoms, medical history, and clinical evaluation.
Don't panic over a single number. Talk to a urologist to understand what your PSA results mean and the right next steps.
