🌊 What if the Ocean was within you? 🔱
We often hear the story of Samudra Manthan as a cosmic event : the Devas, Asuras, Mount Mandarachal, Vasuki, the poison and finally the Amrit.
But in certain yogic interpretations, this ancient story can also be understood as a map of inner transformation.
🌊 The Ocean - your Chitta, holding memories, fears, impressions, desires and hidden potential.
⛰️ Mount Mandarachal - the spine, the central axis of the inner journey.
🐍 Vasuki - the force of Kundalini Shakti, symbolically representing the energy that awakens and moves upward.
☠️ Halahala: the poison - the uncomfortable part of transformation. When deep inner work begins, suppressed emotions, fears, anger and old patterns may surface.
🔱 Shiva as Neelkanth - a profound reminder that transformation doesn't mean escaping what arises. It means learning to hold it without allowing it to consume you.
✨ And then come the 14 Ratnas : symbolically representing the treasures, powers, possibilities and even temptations that can emerge during the journey.
The deeper message?
Before you reach the Amrit, you may first have to face your Vish.
Perhaps Samudra Manthan was never just about what happened in an ocean…
Perhaps it also asks us to look at what is being churned within us. 🌊🔱
