Sentence rearrangement as a speech-stimulating technique is a therapy strategy to encourage expressive language, sentence formulation, and grammatical skills.

This technique involves presenting the child with a group of words that form a sentence, but in jumbled order. The child is then asked to rearrange the words to form a meaningful, grammatically correct sentence.

*Purpose of technique:*

-To stimulate spontaneous speech and sentence formulation.

-To enhance comprehension of sentence structure.

Leveraging the brain's high plasticity in young children (ideally before age 3) to significantly improve developmental trajectories, boosting social, communication, and cognitive skills, reducing behavioral challenges, increasing independence, and leading to better long-term outcomes.

Mat-based therapy focuses on strengthening the body through simple, structured movements that support stability, balance, and functional independence. It provides a safe surface for practicing posture, coordination, and controlled movement patterns without restricting natural play.

Here, the child performed quadruped over bolster for upper limb weight-bearing, tall kneeling for hip and trunk stability, supported standing for balance and alignment, and bridging for core and hip strength. Together, these exercises help improve movement control and build the foundation for better sitting, standing, and walking skills.

Pre writing skills are the basic skills that children develop before they begin formal writing.

* These skills include holding a pencil correctly, drawing simple lines and shapes, improving hand strength, and coordinating eye and hand movements.

For children with autism, developing pre-writing skills is especially important because they often face challenges with fine motor control, visual-motor coordination, and attention.

Basic Activities can be included are:
1. Colouring and Drawing
2. Tracing and connecting dots
3. Scissor use

Attention and concentration are foundational skills that enable children to engage with tasks, follow instructions accurately, and successfully complete activities.

For children with autism or ADHD, sustaining focus can be challenging, as they may become easily distracted or lose interest in ongoing tasks.

Color Sorting: This activity enhances focus, visual discrimination, hand-eye coordination, and the ability to follow multi-step tasks.

Capitalizes on the brain's high plasticity in early life to improve motor skills, prevent contractures, and maximize potential for independence. Key benefits include strengthening neural connections, improving movement and posture, preventing ineffective movement patterns, and supporting the development of daily living skills.

Using ‘Wh’ questions

* Use two sets of cards: one with questions (e.g., “What do we eat?”) and one with answers (e.g., “An apple”).

* Lay out the question cards in one row and the answer cards in another.

* Pick a question card and ask the child to find the matching answer card.

* Let them physically place or “fix” the cards together.

* Use hints or clues for harder questions (e.g., pointing to relevant features on the cards).

* Introduce new vocabulary while discussing the matches (e.g., “Yes, this is a nest. Birds live there!”)

* Use reinforcement strategies: Give positive feedback or rewards for correct matches.

* Encourage the child to create their own WH questions after matching the cards.

* This activity enhances language skills, comprehension, and problem-solving while keeping it fun and engaging!
