​Today marks the third day of Raja Parba, a unique 3-day festival in Odisha that celebrates Mother Earth’s menstruation. To give her rest, all agricultural work stops. And symbolically, women and young girls get a complete break from all chores while the men take over the kitchen! 🍳👑
​As a gynecologist, what moves me the most is how deeply this normalizes menstruation. Young boys grow up knowing exactly what 'Rajo' means. No taboos, no whispers—just immense respect for womanhood and motherhood.

• Disturbed sleep due to worry (not just physical discomfort)
• Constant guilt, self-blame, or fear of “something going wrong”
• Panic attacks, breathlessness, or chest tightness
• Loss of interest in things you usually enjoy
• Feeling disconnected from your pregnancy or baby
• Irritability or anger you can’t control
• Thoughts like “I’m not strong enough for this” or “I won’t cope”
