On 08.08.2026 (Saturday), a Pharmacovigilance Awareness Programme was organized for the patients at OPD RRIUM, Bhadrak by Dr. Md Shaharyar Ali Ansari (Junior Research Fellow – Pharmacovigilance, Unani), Under the Supervision of Dr. Jawwad-ul Haq (Research Officer - Incharge), were following officer also present Dr. Mohd Mudassir (Research Officer - Unani).

During the programme, Dr Md Shaharyar Ali Ansari explained the aims and objectives of Pharmacovigilance, stressing the importance of reporting any side effects or adverse drug reactions (ADRs) without delay. He highlighted the risks associated with self-medication, over-the-counter drugs, and unverified “verbal” medicines, and strongly advised patients to use medicines only under the consultation of a qualified physician.

The lecture also covered common symptoms of ADRs—including dizziness, vomiting, allergic reactions, abdominal pain, and other unusual complaints—and guided participants on how to report such events at the Pharmacovigilance Centre. IEC (Information, Education, and Communication) materials were distributed to reinforce the awareness message.

A total of 35 patients attended and benefited from the programme.

🇮🇳🌿 Independence Day Celebrations & International Day of the World's Indigenous Peoples 2026 | Health Awareness Programme

As part of the Independence Day Celebrations and the International Day of the World's Indigenous Peoples (9 August), RRIUM, Bhadrak (CCRUM, Ministry of Ayush, Govt. of India), under the TSP Programme, organized a Health Awareness and Community Sensitization Programme at Bahabaradanga village, Keonjhar District, Odisha.

Under the guidance Dr Jawad ul Haq RO incharge RRIUM Bhadrak,Dr. Murad Husain, Research Associate (Unani) interacted with the tribal community and highlighted the importance of health, hygiene, nutrition, disease prevention, and the role of the Unani System of Medicine in promoting holistic well-being. The programme also recognized the rich cultural heritage, traditional knowledge, and valuable contribution of tribal communities towards sustainable development.

IEC materials and free Unani medicines were distributed among the beneficiaries to strengthen health awareness and encourage healthy lifestyle practices.

Together, let us celebrate our nation's freedom while reaffirming our commitment to the health, dignity, and empowerment of tribal communities.

Report on Independence Day Awareness Programme

On 05. 08.2026 (Wednesday), an 'Independence Day Awareness Programme' was organized for the patients at OPD, RRIUM, Bhadrak. The lecture was delivered by Dr. Mohd Mudassir (Research Officer – Unani), IPD/OPD Incharge, under the supervision of Dr. Jawwad-ul Haq (Research Officer – Incharge).

During the programme, Dr. Mohd Mudassir, Research officer Unani highlighted the significance of independence Day, commemorating the sacrifices and contributions of the freedom fighters who secured India's independence. He emphasized the importance of patriotism, national unity, and the responsibility of every citizen in preserving the values of democracy, equality, and social harmony.

🤱 World Breastfeeding Week 2026 | Health Awareness Programme

Today, as part of World Breastfeeding Week 2026 (1–7 August), RRIUM, Bhadrak (CCRUM, Ministry of Ayush, Govt. of India), under the TSP Programme, organized a Health Awareness and Community Sensitization Programme at Baunsagarh Village, Anandapur Block, Keonjhar District, Odisha.

Dr. Murad Husain, Research Associate (Unani) delivered an awareness lecture on the theme "Breastfeeding for a Sustainable Start in Life: Strengthen What Works."

The session emphasized the importance of: 👶 Initiating breastfeeding within the first hour of birth 🍼 Exclusive breastfeeding for the first six months ❤️ Continuing breastfeeding up to two years and beyond along with appropriate complementary feeding.

Participants were also informed about the nutritional, immunological, and psychological benefits of breastfeeding, the importance of skilled breastfeeding support, and the role of breastfeeding in ensuring a healthy and sustainable future for every child.

Information on Unani approaches to supporting maternal health and lactation was shared. Educational IEC leaflets and Unani medicines were distributed among the beneficiaries.

Together, let us support mothers, protect children, and build a healthier future through breastfeeding.

🤱💧 World Breastfeeding Week 2026 & "Catch the Rain" | Health Awareness Programme

As part of World Breastfeeding Week 2026 (1–7 August), themed "Breastfeeding for a Sustainable Start in Life: Strengthen What Works," RRIUM, Bhadrak (CCRUM, Ministry of Ayush, Govt. of India), under the TSP Programme, organized a Health Awareness and Community Sensitization Programme at Kathakata Village, Keonjhar District, Odisha.

Dr. Murad Husain, Research Associate (Unani) delivered awareness lectures on World Breastfeeding Week 2026 and the "Catch the Rain" campaign.

The session emphasized the importance of exclusive breastfeeding for the first six months, maternal nutrition, and the proven interventions that strengthen breastfeeding support in families, health facilities, and communities. Participants were also informed about the nutritional, immunological, and psychological benefits of breastfeeding for both mothers and infants.

An awareness session was also conducted on the "Catch the Rain" campaign of the National Water Mission, Ministry of Jal Shakti, highlighting the importance of rainwater harvesting, groundwater recharge, conservation of traditional water bodies, and community participation under the slogan "Catch the Rain, Where It Falls, When It Falls."

On 03.08.2026 (Monday), a "Catch the Rain" Awareness Programme was organized for the patients at OPD, RRIUM, Bhadrak. Today, under the TSP Programme, Regional Research Institute of Unani Medicine (RRIUM), Bhadrak (CCRUM, Ministry of Ayush, Government of India) organized a Health Camp and Awareness Programme at Kathakata Village, Anandapur Block, Keonjhar District, Odisha.

Dr. Murad Husain, Research Associate (Unani) screened and treated 50 patients, distributed free Unani medicines, and delivered awareness lectures on World Hepatitis Day and the 100-Day TB Mukt Bharat Campaign.

Observed every year on 28 July, World Hepatitis Day 2026 is being celebrated under the global theme "Hepatitis: Let's Break It Down." The session highlighted the importance of hepatitis prevention, vaccination, early testing, timely treatment, and maintaining good liver health. Participants were also informed that viral hepatitis remains a major global public health challenge and that early diagnosis can save lives.

The programme also emphasized the objectives of the 100-Day TB Mukt Bharat Campaign (25 March–30 July 2026), highlighting the importance of early TB detection, treatment adherence, and community participation in achieving the goal of a TB-free India. The active involvement of tribal communities is vital to strengthening national efforts toward TB elimination.

Following the awareness session, patients received clinical examination and appropriate Unani treatment, with medicines provided free of cost according to their healthcare needs.

Together, let us spread awareness, promote early screening, and work towards a Hepatitis-Free and TB-Free India.

Today, under the TSP Programme, RRIUM, Bhadrak (CCRUM, Ministry of Ayush, Govt. of India) organized a Health Camp and Awareness Programme at Kantipal Village, Anandapur Block, Keonjhar District, Odisha.

Dr. Murad Husain, Research Associate (Unani) screened and treated 70 patients, distributed free Unani medicines, and delivered awareness lectures on Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) and the 100-Day TB Mukt Bharat Campaign.

The session highlighted the importance of the rational use of medicines, avoiding self-medication, preventing antimicrobial resistance, recognizing the signs and symptoms of tuberculosis, seeking early diagnosis, and completing the full course of TB treatment. IEC (Information, Education and Communication) materials related to AMR and TB awareness were also distributed among the participants.

The programme strengthened community awareness and promoted preventive healthcare among the tribal population.

Today, under the TSP Programme, RRIUM, Bhadrak (CCRUM, Ministry of Ayush, Govt. of India) organized a Health Camp and Awareness Programme at Kathakata Village, Anandapur Block, Keonjhar District, Odisha.

Dr. Murad Husain, Research Associate (Unani) screened and treated 46 patients, distributed free Unani medicines, and delivered an awareness lecture on Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR).

The session emphasized the dangers of self-medication, the importance of using antibiotics only on the advice of a qualified healthcare professional, and the need for the rational use of medicines to help prevent antimicrobial resistance. IEC (Information, Education and Communication) materials on AMR were also distributed among the participants.

The programme witnessed active participation from the tribal community and reinforced the importance of responsible medicine use, preventive healthcare, and public health awareness.
