A serious privacy breach has sparked outrage in Uttar Pradesh after a woman patient's private photos, reportedly taken during a surgery at a government-run hospital in Kaushambi, were circulated on WhatsApp.

The incident has raised major concerns over patient dignity, medical ethics, and data security within public healthcare systems.
According to reports, the images allegedly showed the patient's face and private parts during a surgical procedure and were shared across WhatsApp groups linked to officials and media personnel.

The patient, a 22-year-old woman, had been admitted to the gynaecology department and underwent surgery under senior doctors' supervision.

Following public backlash, authorities have launched an inquiry to identify who captured the photos, who was present in the operation theatre, and how the images were leaked. Initial findings suggest a responsible official may have shared the images in an internal group, from where they spread further.

Officials have termed the incident a "major mistake," assuring strict disciplinary action against those involved. Women's rights groups have also demanded accountability, calling it a gross violation of privacy and medical ethics.
