Patient- “maam, kya epidural lagwane se life-long back pain ho jata hai?”

This is one of the most common myths I hear from pregnant women.

And the answer is:

No, epidural does NOT cause permanent back pain. 🤍

Epidural is a form of pain relief given during labor that helps reduce contraction pain significantly.

After delivery, some women may experience:
✔ Mild soreness at the injection site
✔ Temporary back discomfort for a few days

But this usually settles on its own.

The back pain many women notice after childbirth is more often related to:
• Pregnancy-related posture changes
• Weak core and back muscles
• Carrying and feeding the baby
• Lack of sleep and physical strain

Not the epidural itself.

In fact, multiple studies have not shown epidurals to be a cause of chronic long-term back pain.

So if you're considering an epidural during labor, don't let this myth make the decision for you.

Discuss the benefits and risks with your doctor and choose what's best for you and your birth experience.

Have you ever wondered if you're carrying twins? While only an ultrasound can confirm it, your body may give you some early clues.

First, morning sickness may be more intense than expected, with frequent nausea and vomiting.

Second, you might feel extremely tired even after getting enough rest, as your body is working harder to support two babies.

Third, your baby bump may appear larger or grow faster than what's typical for your stage of pregnancy.

Fourth, *higher pregnancy hormone (hCG) levels* can sometimes be seen in twin pregnancies, although this alone is not enough for a diagnosis.

And finally, a family history of fraternal twins or fertility treatments can increase the chances of having twins.

Remember, these are only possible signs—not proof. The only reliable way to confirm a twin pregnancy is through an ultrasound and regular prenatal check-ups.

Double the surprise, double the joy! ❤️👶👶

A 32-year-old patient came to me with unexplained infertility.

All her reports were normal.
✔ Regular periods
✔ Normal scans
✔ No obvious fertility issues

Yet, despite trying for almost 8 months, pregnancy wasn't happening.

She had been told:
‘Keep trying for a few more months, otherwise we'll move to IUI.’

But I wanted to understand WHY she wasn't conceiving.

So we did a deeper fertility evaluation.

What we found was:
⚠ Elevated stress levels
⚠ Poor sleep quality
⚠ Signs of oxidative stress affecting reproductive health

Her body was constantly in survival mode.

When stress hormones remain high for long periods, they can affect:
• Ovulation
• Hormonal balance
• Egg quality
• Overall fertility potential

Instead of rushing into the next procedure, we focused on the root cause.

Our plan included:
✔ Sleep correction
✔ Stress management
✔ Lifestyle modifications
✔ Nutritional support
✔ Antioxidant support for egg health
✔ Regular monitoring

Within a few weeks, she started feeling better.

Her energy improved.
Her sleep improved.
Her stress levels came down significantly.

And soon after, she conceived naturally. 🤍

Sometimes the problem isn't visible on a scan.

Sometimes fertility treatment starts with understanding what the body is trying to tell us.

"Doctor, did I do something wrong? Is that why the cord is around my baby's neck?"

This is one of the most common questions I hear from pregnant mothers.

The answer is - No.

In most cases, a cord around the baby's neck—also called a nuchal cord—is **not caused by anything the mother did.**

Not because you walked too much.

Not because you climbed stairs.

Not because you lifted your arms above your head.

And not because of the way you sleep.

The real reason is much simpler:

Babies move a lot inside the womb.

As they turn, stretch, and change positions, the umbilical cord can sometimes loop around their neck.

In fact, this is quite common during pregnancy.

And many times, the cord unwraps on its own before delivery.

Even if the cord is still around the neck at birth, most babies are born perfectly healthy.

So if your ultrasound mentions a "cord around the neck," don't panic.

And most importantly, Don't blame yourself.

This is usually a natural part of pregnancy and something your doctor will continue to monitor during your regular checkups. ❤️
