Every baby brings a new story, a new family, and a new beginning.

One of the sweetest privileges of being an obstetrician — watching life begin, and sometimes getting a little cuddle afterwards. 💕

“Doctor, what if I get pregnant by mistake?” 👀

This is one of the questions many women have but are often too scared or embarrassed to ask.

Unwanted pregnancy. Emergency contraception. Birth control. Protection. There’s a lot of confusion, myths and “someone told me…” advice floating around.

In this video, Dr. Chinmayee Kar breaks down what you actually need to know without judgement, awkwardness or misinformation.

Because contraception isn’t about being careless. It’s about being informed. 🩷

🎥 Watch till the end and send this to the friend who needs this conversation.

“Doctor, all our reports are normal… then why aren’t we getting pregnant?”

This is a question I hear more often than you might think.

And sometimes, after taking a detailed history, I discover something couples don’t realise is important:

They’re simply not spending enough time together during the fertile window.

Some couples live in different cities.

Some meet only for a few days each month.

And sometimes, those few days simply don’t overlap with ovulation.

So before assuming that something is “wrong” with your fertility, we need to understand timing, ovulation and how often you’re actually together.

Because fertility is not just about test reports. Timing matters too. 🩷

If you have been trying to conceive, don’t just ask, “Are our reports normal?” Ask, “Are we giving ourselves the right opportunity to conceive?”

Watch the full video to understand what couples often miss.

“Doctor, why do you work so hard?”

Maybe this is why. 🥹❤️

Because after all the hours in the OT, the sleepless nights, the stress, and the countless decisions… there comes a moment when a mother sees her baby for the very first time. 👶🏻🤍

That first look. That first smile. That first kiss. That moment when she finally realizes, “My baby is here.”

And suddenly, every difficult moment feels worth it.

For doctors, nurses, and every person behind that delivery room door this is more than just a job.

This is the moment we work for. ❤️

🎥 A moment that reminds us why healthcare is truly about people, not just procedures.

💊 PROGESTERONE: USE vs MISUSE — Are we taking it for the right reason?

Progesterone is an important hormone in women’s reproductive health, but not every delayed period, pregnancy, or spotting episode automatically needs progesterone.

✅ When progesterone may be USEFUL:
• Selected cases of menstrual irregularity
• Luteal-phase support in fertility treatment
• Certain cases of threatened/recurrent pregnancy loss, based on clinical assessment
• Prevention of preterm birth in selected high-risk pregnancies
• Endometrial protection in women receiving estrogen or with chronic anovulation

⚠️ When it can become MISUSE:
• Taking it every time a period is delayed without finding the cause
• Self-medicating because it “worked last time”
• Continuing it in pregnancy without reassessing the indication
• Using it simply because a friend or relative was prescribed it
• Assuming progesterone can prevent every miscarriage

💡 The key message: Progesterone is a valuable medicine—but the right patient, right indication, right dose and right duration matter.

Don’t just ask, “Should I take progesterone?”
Ask, “Why do I need progesterone?”

👩‍⚕️ Always use hormonal medicines under appropriate medical guidance.
