IMPACT of CHRONIC ENDOMETRITIS on ART OUTCOME : in the general ART population, untreated CE patients showed comparable clinical pregnancy and live birth rates to non-CE patients, but a lower observed miscarriage risk in fresh embryo transfer cycles. No statistically significant improvement in reproductive outcomes was observed following antibiotic treatment, and cure of CE demonstrated only a nonsignificant trend toward benefit. Our findings suggest that CE has limited overall impact on ART outcomes, though its clinical relevance may be greater in high-risk populations. Further prospective studies are needed to determine the role of CE diagnosis and treatment in improving reproductive success.

In Singapore , PGT-A is not permitted for routine clinical use and is restricted to research settings.

New research presented at the ESHRE 2026 conference :
shows that patients aged 49 and older face lower live birth rates and higher miscarriage rates in IVF, even when using young donor eggs.
The study of nearly 2,800 transfers indicates that the uterine environment and overall maternal health, rather than just egg quality, are critical factors in IVF success as patients age.

ESHRE 42nd annual meeting highlights :

➡️ An international registry study from 46 IVF centers found that whole-chromosome aneuploid embryos did not result in any live births, while 20% of segmental aneuploid embryos did.
➡️ A randomized trial found that PRP did not improve embryo quality, ovarian response, or pregnancy outcomes in women with diminished ovarian reserve. A second randomized trial in a similar population reported similar results.
➡️ A meta-analysis found that GLP-1 receptor agonist exposure before conception or during the first trimester was not associated with an increased risk of major birth defects or adverse pregnancy outcomes.
➡️ A meta-analysis found that Lactobacillus-containing probiotics were associated with higher clinical pregnancy rates, particularly when treatment lasted more than 14 days.
➡️ A randomized trial found that 150 IU vs. 225 IU recombinant FSH resulted in similar live birth rates, although the 150 IU dose produced higher blastocyst rates in predicted normal responders
➡️ Researchers compared IVF costs across 22 countries and found that more affordable treatment was associated with greater use of IVF and more babies born through assisted reproduction.

Hysteroscopy is a valuable diagnostic and therapeutic modality in the management of infertility.
Besides abnormal bleeding, a woman may need to undergo a diagnostic hysteroscopy for reasons that include: To diagnose the cause of repeated miscarriages. This tends to be if a woman suffers two miscarriages in a row. To diagnose some conditions, such as fibroids or polyps, which are non-cancerous growths in the womb.
Traditionally, hysteroscopy has been utilized for diagnostic and operative intervention for endometrial polyps, submucous and pedunculated myomas, intrauterine adhesions, and uterine septa , etc .
Some studies have shown that removing endometrial polyps using hysteroscopy improves fertility and increases pregnancy rates, irrespective of the size or number of the polyps.

Cervical adhesions (scar tissue binding the cervix or cervical canal) are most commonly caused by trauma to the tissue or chronic inflammation. This restricts the cervical opening, potentially causing painful periods, abnormal bleeding, or fertility issues.

Common causes and risk factors :
- Surgical Procedures: Dilation and curettage (\(D\&C\))
- LEEP (Loop Electrosurgical Excision Procedure)
- cryosurgery or cone biopsies
- Infections: Chronic cervicitis, pelvic inflammatory disease (PID),
or sexually transmitted infections (like chlamydia and gonorrhea).
- Radiation Therapy: Prior cancer treatments in the pelvic region can cause scarring.
- Endometriosis: Growth of uterine-lining tissue outside the uterus can trigger inflammation and scarring.
- Hypoestrogenism: Low estrogen levels, which are commonly seen in postmenopausal women, can make the cervical tissues thinner and more prone to sticking together (atrophy) .
