Is Your Baby Getting Enough Tummy Time? Here’s a Month-by-Month Breakdown | Cuddlecare.
From their very first weeks to their first crawls, tummy time plays a massive role in your baby’s physical development!
If you are unsure how long your baby should be practicing tummy time, Dr. Manoj K. Sahoo from Cuddle Care Child Health Center has laid out the perfect milestone roadmap:
🔹 0-1 Month: 1-2 minutes, 2-3 times a day (awake and calm sessions).
🔹 1-2 Months: 5-10 minutes total across the day.
🔹 2-3 Months: 15-20 minutes total daily.
🔹 3-4 Months: 30-40 minutes (introduce eye-level interaction and toys).
🔹 4-5 Months: 45-60 minutes a day.
🔹 5-6 Months: 60+ minutes through floor play.
🔹 6+ Months: Transitions naturally into rolling, crawling, and moving!
Remember, consistency is key! If your baby gets fussy, keep the sessions short and frequent rather than long and stressful.
