Report on World Snake Day Celebration

On the occasion of World Snake Day, the Department of Agadatantra, S.S.M.A.M.C.H., Badagandi, organized a Poster Presentation Programme on 16 July 2026 to create awareness about snakes, snakebite prevention, and the importance of snake conservation.

Students enthusiastically participated in the event by preparing and presenting informative posters on various topics related to snakes, poisonous animals, snake venom, first aid in snakebite, medico-legal aspects of snakebite, and the role of Agadatantra in the management of poisoning. The posters highlighted the ecological significance of snakes and helped dispel common myths and misconceptions associated with them.

Faculty members of the Department of Agadatantra evaluated the presentations and appreciated the efforts of the students in spreading scientific awareness. The programme provided an excellent platform for students to enhance their knowledge, communication skills, and understanding of toxicology and emergency management.

The event concluded successfully with an appeal to conserve snakes and promote evidence-based awareness regarding snakebite prevention and treatment.

Smt. Shantadevi Memorial Ayurvedic Medical College and Hospital successfully organized a Free Health Check-up Camp as a part of its commitment to community health and social responsibility. The camp provided free medical consultations, basic health screenings, expert Ayurvedic guidance and Free medicines to the public. The initiative aimed to promote preventive healthcare, create awareness regarding healthy lifestyle practices, and ensure access to quality healthcare services for the community.

As part of the observance of the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, an awareness rally was successfully organized by department of agadatantra of Smt. Shantadevi Memorial Ayurveda College and Hospital.The program was presided over by Dr. Rajeshwari Biradar, Principal sSmamch, badagandi.
The rally was conducted with the theme “Say No to Drugs, Say Yes to Life” to create awareness among the public regarding the harmful effects of drug abuse and the importance of leading a healthy, drug-free life. Participants carried placards displaying awareness messages and raised slogans against drug abuse and illicit trafficking.
