Why does laser hair removal take multiple sessions?
If only there were a magic wand! Unfortunately, there isn't—and here's why.
Hair grows in 3 different phases:
Anagen (Active growth phase) – The hair is attached to the follicle and contains the most melanin. This is the only stage where the laser can effectively destroy the hair follicle.
Catagen (Transition phase) – The hair detaches from the follicle.
Telogen (Resting phase) – The old hair eventually sheds, and a new hair begins to form.
At any given time, only 10–30% of your hair is in the active (anagen) phase, while the rest is in other stages. That's why a single session can only target a fraction of the hair.
✅ Every 4–8 weeks, a new group of hairs enters the active growth phase. Repeating the treatment allows us to target these new hairs, leading to progressive and long-lasting hair reduction.
