A cherished memory from the history of the Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER), Chandigarh—its inaugural function was held on 7 July 1963 and was inaugurated by the then Hon’ble Prime Minister of India, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru.

The University School of Physiotherapy & Radiology (USPR), Rayat Bahra University, successfully organized a One-Week Faculty Development Programme (FDP) on “Innovative Approaches in Research Methodology, Scientific Writing, and Academic Publishing” in hybrid mode from 27th July to 3rd August 2026, in collaboration with FAMRITI.

Held under the visionary leadership of Hon’ble Chancellor S. Gurvinder Singh Bahra, Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Sanjay Kumar, and Pro Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Satish Kumar, the FDP aimed to strengthen research competencies, ethical academic practices, and scholarly excellence.

Expert sessions by distinguished resource persons from BRIKC, Rayat Bahra University covered research methodology, systematic reviews & meta-analysis, scientific writing for Scopus/Web of Science journals, publication ethics, plagiarism prevention, grant proposal writing, funding opportunities, and AI-augmented entrepreneurship.

The programme, coordinated by Ms. Mamta Panda and Ms. Kamalpreet, witnessed enthusiastic participation from faculty members, researchers, and academicians across disciplines. Through engaging discussions and practical insights, participants enhanced their skills in research, academic publishing, innovation, and entrepreneurship.

Together, we continue to foster a culture of research excellence, innovation, and lifelong learning.
