Three myths about lower blepharoplasty:
"It's bag removal." It isn't. The goal is a smooth, uninterrupted orbitomalar region — one continuous plane from lid to cheek. Scoop out fat and you get a hollow that ages worse than the bag. Fat gets repositioned over the rim, not removed.
"You'll be black and blue for a month." Bruising peaks around day 2–3 and typically settles by 10–14 days. Head elevation and cold compresses in the first 48 hours do most of the work.
"There'll be a scar under my lashes." Not with a transconjunctival approach — the incision sits inside the eyelid. No external scar to heal, and the lid margin is never disturbed.

Last year I changed how I do fat grafting. I don't put large fat parcels into a face anymore.
Not because they don't work — because of what they leave behind when they don't.
Fat only survives at its edges. A large drop dies in the middle, and thin skin shows you exactly where.
If an old graft left you with a lump, that was the size of the fat. Not your face.
