“Telepresence” surgery is in
which the surgeon is not physically present at the surgical site. They developed a remote surgical unit and telepresence surgeon's workstation. NASA planned to utilize the technology to remotely service the space
station with greater dexterity.

Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency helped improve emergency medical care to combat casualties, Their initial concept was to locate the telepresence surgeon's workstation at the closest mobile army surgical hospital unit. The remote surgical unit was transported to the patient in an armoured vehicle, allowing for medical forward advanced surgical
treatment (MEDFAST).

Thus, NASA and DARPA orchestrated
the development of telepresence robotic surgery

On the Occasion of World Cancer Day, Dr Vidhyadharan Sivakumar, Head and Neck Surgeon, THANC Hospital in association with The Rotary RID 3233 conducted a Head and Neck Cancer Screening on 4.2.2026 to Corporation Sanitary Workers. About 70 people were screened and were given awareness of Cancer Prevention.

About 60 Ent doctors from chennai participated and updated about the ear surgery techniques .
