Is Implantation Bleeding a Myth or Fact?

Fact. Implantation bleeding can occur when a fertilized egg attaches to the lining of the uterus.

However, not everyone experiences it and its absence does not indicate a problem with pregnancy.

Implantation bleeding is typically:

✅Light pink or brown in colour
✅Much lighter than a regular menstrual period
✅Short-lasting, usually for a few hours to two days
✅Not associated with a heavy flow or large blood clots

Because light bleeding in early pregnancy can have several causes, it is important not to assume it is implantation bleeding.

If you have a positive pregnancy test, persistent bleeding, heavy bleeding, severe pain, or any concerns, consult your healthcare provider for an appropriate evaluation.

World Breastfeeding Week

World Breastfeeding Week is observed every year from 1–7 August to raise awareness about the importance of breastfeeding for the health and well-being of both babies and mothers.

Breast milk provides complete nutrition during the first six months of life and contains antibodies that help protect infants from infections.

Exclusive breastfeeding for the first six months is recommended by the World Health Organization, followed by continued breastfeeding alongside appropriate complementary foods up to two years or beyond.

Breastfeeding also supports maternal health by promoting recovery after childbirth and is associated with long-term health benefits for both mother and child.

Do you leak urine when you cough, laugh, sneeze, or lift something heavy?

If you're constantly worrying about accidents or wearing pads "just in case," you're not alone.

This is often stress urinary incontinence, where the muscles and tissues supporting the bladder and urethra become weak. When pressure inside the abdomen suddenly increases, a small amount of urine can leak.

Treatment depends on the cause and severity. Mild cases often improve with pelvic floor (Kegel) exercises, bladder training and lifestyle changes.

Moderate to severe cases may benefit from physiotherapy, medications (in selected cases) or minimally invasive procedures such as a mid-urethral sling surgery, which provides better support to the urethra and restores bladder control.

You don't have to live with urine leaks. Early evaluation can help you find the most effective treatment.

Fertility isn't something you notice changing. Until you need it.

Ovarian reserve naturally declines with age, affecting both the number and quality of eggs.

The good news is that you don't have to wait until you're trying to conceive to understand your fertility.

Tests such as AMH and Antral Follicle Count (AFC) can provide valuable insights into your ovarian reserve.

If you're planning to delay motherhood, options like egg freezing may help preserve your fertility, while others may benefit from early fertility treatment or personalised reproductive planning.

Knowing your ovarian reserve doesn't predict your future, but it helps you make informed decisions while more options are still available.

When was the last time you prioritized your own health, not just everyone else’s?

On International Women's Health Day, the focus shifts to prevention, early detection, and informed care.

What deserves attention:

* Routine screenings for cervical and breast health
* Menstrual and hormonal health awareness
* Mental well-being and stress management
* Reproductive and fertility planning
* Lifestyle risks impacting long-term health

Ignoring early signs often leads to delayed diagnosis and complex treatment.

Proactive care leads to better outcomes and quality of life.

Book your preventive health check or consult a specialist to stay ahead of potential risks.

Worried about inherited conditions or unsure what your family history means for future health?

Genetic Counseling helps translate complex genetic risks into clear, actionable decisions.

Why it matters:

Assesses risk of inherited conditions based on family history
* Guides appropriate genetic testing and interpretation
* Supports informed decisions for pregnancy and family planning
* Identifies early screening or preventive strategies
* Reduces uncertainty with evidence-based insights

Delaying evaluation can mean missed opportunities for early intervention.

If you have a family history of genetic conditions or are planning a pregnancy, consult a qualified specialist for personalized guidance.

Did you know chronic stress can quietly disrupt key reproductive processes?

Prolonged stress increases cortisol levels, which can interfere with the hormones responsible for ovulation and s***m production.

In women, this may lead to irregular cycles or delayed ovulation.

In men, stress can impact s***m count and motility.

It also affects sleep, metabolism, and overall health, which indirectly influence fertility. Managing stress is often an overlooked but important factor in reproductive health.

What Are the Factors Affecting IVF Success?

IVF success depends on multiple interrelated factors. Understanding these can help couples optimise their chances and make informed decisions.

Here are the key factors to consider:

✅Age of the woman: Egg quality naturally declines as age increases.

✅Ovarian reserve: Number and health of remaining eggs affect results.

✅Sperm quality: Count, motility and morphology influence fertilisation success.

✅Uterine health: Lining thickness and uterine environment are crucial.

✅Hormonal balance: Proper levels of estrogen, progesterone and other hormones.

✅Lifestyle factors: Diet, exercise, stress management, smoking, and alcohol.

✅Medical conditions: PCOS, endometriosis, thyroid disorders, or chronic illnesses.

✅Embryo quality: Viability and chromosomal normality determine implantation.

✅Previous IVF history: Past cycles and responses provide insights.

✅Lab and clinical expertise: The IVF lab quality and clinical care matter.

Hormone injections play a key role in fertility treatments, helping regulate ovulation, support the uterine lining and enhance chances of conception.

When administered under a specialist’s guidance, they are highly effective and tailored to your unique medical profile.

Most people experience mild, manageable effects like slight bloating or tenderness at the injection site, while serious complications are extremely rare.

Regular monitoring through blood tests and ultrasounds ensures the treatment is working optimally.
