Hack for Social Cause (HSC) 2026 is a national-level technology innovation challenge launched under the Viksit Bharat Young Leaders Dialogue (VBYLD). This program empowers Indian youth (18–29 years) to build scalable, tech-driven solutions for major social problems — with mentorship from IIT Bombay.

🧩 Program Structure – 4 Stage Selection
Stage 1: Institutional Hackathon
Each college conducts an internal hackathon → selects 1 winning team.
Stage 2: State-Level Hackathon
Shortlisted teams receive expert mentoring and pitch to a state jury → Top 3 teams/state selected.
Stage 3: IIT Bombay Screening
IIT Bombay selects 1 finalist per State/UT → 36 National Finalists.
Stage 4: National Showcase – New Delhi
Grand national presentations at VBYLD 2026 → Top 5 national winners awarded.

👥 Eligibility
You can apply if:
You are an Indian Citizen
Age 18–29 years (as of 1 Sept 2025)
Studying in an AISHE-registered institution
Team of maximum 3 students from the same institution
All team members must register individually
At least one female member preferred
Interdisciplinary teams encouraged

Problem statement + beneficiary analysis
Detailed solution concept
Technology stack + architecture
Working prototype (GitHub/GitLab link)
3–5 min demo video (min 720p)
