The truth is, it begins much earlier.
Around the age of 45, our bodies start undergoing gradual changes. Muscle strength slowly declines. Bone density begins to decrease. Balance, mobility, nutrition, and the risk of chronic illnesses all start changing, often without us noticing. Yet, many people only seek help after a fall, a fracture, or a hospital admission.
That is exactly why Geri Care has always believed that awareness must come before treatment.
Every community camp we organize is more than a health check-up. It is an opportunity to help individuals and families understand healthy ageing, recognize early signs of frailty, learn about preventive geriatric care, and take timely steps toward maintaining independence and quality of life.
Today, we are proud to mark a significant milestone, our 500th Community Geriatric Awareness Camp.
Behind this number are thousands of conversations, screenings, smiles, questions answered, myths broken, and lives touched. Every camp has reinforced one simple belief: when people understand ageing better, they are better prepared to age healthier.
This journey would not have been possible without the support of the communities, organizations, healthcare professionals, volunteers, and every participant who has trusted us over the years.
Here's to reaching many more people, starting many more conversations, and ensuring that healthy ageing begins with awareness, not after a crisis.
