What does biomechanical evidence tell us about meniscal repair?

A controlled laboratory study published in the American Journal of Sports Medicine evaluated all-inside and inside-out meniscal repair devices under repetitive loading.

The study demonstrated reduced gap formation & superior stiffness under repetitive loading by Bachmaier et al., (OJSM) Othopedic Journal of sports medicine Biomechincal Study that FiberStitch™ 1.5

* All-suture design for all-inside meniscal repair
* Higher failure load compared with the PEEK anchor evaluated in the study
* 1.5 mm low-profile needle designed for tissue-sparing passage
* A construct designed to deliver strength without compromising a low-profile repair approach

These findings highlight how compact, conforming anchor design can influence construct stability during repetitive loading.

The Paediatric Orthopaedic Foundation (POF), together with Arthrex and Avana Medical, successfully organised Paediatric & Adolescent Flat Foot event on 25th Sept 2026 at Hilton Garden Inn, Saket, Delhi.
