Food served in our hospital for the doctors and staffs . I generally get my own food but somedays I do eat in the hospital. Its healthy and nutritious . This is mini meals. And we had lots of happy moments with deliveries in our hospital. Hospital has become my home . I spend 12 to 14 hours a day in the hospital. Being a Robotic Gynecology Surgeon and doing large volumes of Endometriosis and fibroid cases on one hand and also doing deliveries which brings loads of joy is so gratifying. Last week was a very good and a hectic week . We had done many successful Robotic surgeries for Fibroid uterus , Endometriosis, ovarian cystectomies for endometriotic cysts and Myomectomies . All the patients recovered well and went home. We had patients from middle east and Srilanka as well. We are a centre of excellence for Endometriosis Surgery. We had alot of deliveries and newborn babies last week . Most of them were normal deliveries. Endometriosis is a complex disease and a very painful condition. Patients suffer alot and usually diagnosed very late by ultrasound or mri. So lets not normalise pain during periods. Surgical treatment is the best treatment and robotic surgery by da vinci Xi system gives the best clearance of the disease. After a hectic week I went to my salon for a hair spa to pamper myself .

Many myths revolve around family planning procedure especially bilateral Tubectomy .
Tubectomy does not cause weight gain or hormonal imbalance or weakness or irregular cycles or mood swings or back pain. If Cesarean Section is planned during your second pregnancy and you dont wish to have any more children it is advisable to do the tubectomy procedure along with the cesarean section . There are no side effects at all . Sometimes if your gynecologist and pediatrician decide not to go ahead with the tubectomy because of preterm delivery etc then kindly follow their advice. This week we conducted alot of robotic cystectomies, robotic hysterectomy, robotic myomectomy, etc for fibroid uterus , endometriosis, dermoid cyst,endometriotic cyst , etc by Da Vinci Xi system at our hospital . We did around two to three robotic cases a day. This month we discharged all the preterm babies which we delivered at 26 weeks ,28 weeks and 30 weeks . All of them were dicharged and the babies were healthy. The families were happy.We celebrated with a cake cutting with the families and doctors and management. We conducted many normal deliveries this week for mothers with diabetes ,hypertension, vbac, twins etc . Overall a very hectic and happy week with all patients going home healthy and happy . Its my dream to build a centre of excellence for robotic surgery for Endometriosis and Fibroids, high risk obstetrics and uterine transplant and i am doing it with a great team of surgeons here in Chennai. I am grateful to the Lord Almighty for each and everyday and for his guidance and blessings. Jantar Mantar protest. Students have all the rights to a peaceful protest demading change in the educational system . They are our future . We all need to support them. I welcome the resignation of the Education Minister Mr Dharmendra Pradhan . And this is not enough . No more paper leaks for any exams . Fair education system should be ensured for the future of India.

Yesterday being saturday, was a very busy day . 100 opd patients and also had many robotic surgeries using da vinci Xi system. Performing surgeries have become so enjoyable after da vinci xi system bcoz the patients are fine , no blood loss, no pain post operatively, surgical outcomes are great . What more does a surgeon need?
Following that made a last minute decision to see the movie I was waiting for' Odyssey '. Amazing movie . Chris Nolan proves he the master film maker again. Must watch. My husband DrVivek booked the 10.50 pm show knowing thats the time I will be free.
Went home by 2.30 am. Next day being Sunday, was good for rest. Always need to relax whenever you can.
