🦵 **Knee pain? Don’t just ignore the reason behind it.**

In Siddha medicine, joint and knee pain may be associated with **Vatham-related conditions**.

🌿 Three commonly discussed herbs:
1️⃣ **Vathanarayana**
2️⃣ **Mudakathan**
3️⃣ **Pirandai**

These herbs contain various bioactive compounds that have been studied for **anti-inflammatory and antioxidant activity**.

But remember — knee pain can have many different causes. The right approach depends on the **individual condition and proper assessment**.

👉 If you’re experiencing joint pain, comment **“JOINT”** below.
We’ll explain the **individualized Siddha approach** and what factors should be considered.

📌 Save this reel & share it with someone dealing with joint pain.

👀 **Low eye contact + speech delay? Don’t ignore the signs.**

These can be early signs associated with autism, but **autism cannot be identified from a single symptom alone.**

A proper assessment should consider:
🔹 Social interaction
🔹 Communication & speech
🔹 Behavioural patterns
🔹 Sensory differences
🔹 Individual developmental needs

Every child is different. Early identification and appropriate support can help parents understand their child’s needs better. ❤️

**Don’t wait. Understand your child. Seek a proper professional assessment.**

👦 **“My child is always active… Is it ADHD?”**

Not every active child has ADHD. ❌

ADHD can involve symptoms such as:
🔹 Hyperactivity
🔹 Impulsivity
🔹 Difficulty sustaining attention

But the important question is — **how much are these symptoms affecting your child’s everyday life?**

🏫 How is their attention at school?
📚 Can they follow instructions and complete tasks?
🏠 Is their behaviour similar at home and school?
😴 How are their sleep, diet and daily routines?

A proper assessment is important before assuming that a child has ADHD.

⚠️ **Don’t label your child based on one behaviour. First understand the child, then seek appropriate professional guidance.**

🧠 **Brahmi = Memory Booster? Parents, know this first!**

Many parents give Brahmi to their children hoping to improve **memory, attention & cognitive function**. But simply being “natural” doesn’t mean it should be given without proper guidance.

🌿 Brahmi contains compounds such as **bacosides**, which have been studied for their potential role in cognitive function.

For children with **autism, ADHD or cerebral palsy**, Brahmi should only be considered as a **supportive approach after individual assessment**.

⚠️ Powder, tablet, ghee, syrup… Brahmi comes in different forms, and the **right form, dosage and duration depend on the child**.

👨‍⚕️ Don’t self-medicate your child. Consult a qualified Siddha doctor before using Brahmi.

Oil massage alone is not the answer. 👶🌿

In Siddha medicine, external therapies may include Varma, Thokkanam, Pugai, Thuvalai and other approaches. But these are not one-size-fits-all, especially for children with autism.

A qualified Siddha doctor should assess the child individually and decide whether any external therapy is appropriate.

These therapies are not intended to cure autism — they may be used as supportive care for overall well-being and functional development.

💬 Instead of asking “Which oil is best?”
Ask: “Which approach may be suitable for my child?”

Is your autistic child repeating the same action or words again and again? 🔄

Don’t rush to stop the behavior. First, try to understand **why it is happening**.

Repetitive behaviors can sometimes be connected to a child’s sensory needs, communication, emotions, or environment. 🧠

Instead of asking, “How do I stop this behavior?”
Try asking, **“What is my child trying to communicate?”**

Understanding the reason behind the behavior is the first step toward supporting your child better. ❤️

👉 What repetitive behavior does your child show most often? Tell us in the comments.

What is Thokkanam? And why is it used in Siddha care for some children with autism? 🌿
Thokkanam is a traditional Siddha therapy that involves specific techniques of touch and massage. For children with autism, the approach should never be the same for every child.

The technique, pressure, duration and frequency should be decided based on the child’s individual body condition and proper assessment.

👨‍⚕️ A qualified Siddha doctor should assess the child and determine whether Thokkanam is appropriate.

💬 Want to know more about Thokkanam and how it is approached for children?
