After the overwhelming response to Season 1, the Azhagana Adyar Photography Contest – Season 2 is back with a new theme:

Adyar & Beyond in the Dark

Capture the beauty of Adyar after sunset — lights, streets, reflections, architecture, people, and everything that comes alive in the dark.

Contest Dates: August 19–31, 2026

Inclusion Areas: Adyar, Besant Nagar, Guindy, Kotturpuram, Mylapore, Alwarpet, Nandanam, R.A. Puram, Teynampet, Saidapet, ECR and OMR

MGM Healthcare Malar, Adyar, hosted an insightful 24/7 Emergency Readiness for Seniors awareness session featuring Dr. Neeraj Mangla, Consultant-in-Charge, Emergency Medicine.

The session highlighted simple yet important steps that seniors, especially those living alone, can take to be better prepared for unexpected emergencies:

• Keep medical records, prescriptions and emergency contact details in one designated and easily accessible place.
• Consider smart devices with fall-detection and emergency alert features for added safety at home.
• Have a clear emergency access plan and ensure trusted contacts and the hospital team are aware of the arrangements.
• Keep important emergency numbers readily available and ensure family members or caregivers know where to find essential medical information.

For seniors living independently, being prepared can mean getting the right help at the right time.

Because when an emergency happens, every second matters.

MGM Healthcare Malar, Adyar proudly congratulates Dr. Samuel Reefath, Senior Consultant & Clinical Lead – Interventional Radiology, and his research team on the acceptance of eight scientific research abstracts for presentation at the prestigious Radiological Society of North America (RSNA) 2026,Chicago the world’s largest radiology conference.

Among these, one of the most significant breakthroughs is a pioneering study on sub 20mL contrast and reduced-radiation-dose CT coronary angiography, demonstrating high diagnostic performance using just 15 mL of contrast medium in a cohort of 60 patients,validated against invasive coronary angiography.

Conducted using DELTA AI reconstruction on the United Imaging uCT 780, this research highlights the potential of artificial intelligence to significantly reduce both radiation exposure and contrast dose while maintaining excellent diagnostic accuracy, paving the way for safer cardiac CT imaging.

This achievement is especially noteworthy as RSNA 2026 received more than 12,000 scientific abstract submissions, with these studies recognized among the top submissions invited for presentation. Having eight research abstracts accepted at a single RSNA meeting is a remarkable accomplishment and reflects MGM Healthcare Malar’s commitment to innovation, clinical excellence, and impactful research.

We congratulate Dr. Samuel Reefath and the entire research team on this outstanding international recognition and wish them continued success in advancing the future of cardiac imaging and interventional radiology.
