What do we do when breastfeeding appears difficult despite attention to attachment and positioning?
For infants born preterm or with neurological risk, the answer may require us to observe more closely: the infant’s state, postural organisation, tone, endurance, oral responses and coordination during feeding.
NICE Academy’s BINR — Breastfeeding the Infant at Neurodevelopmental Risk offers healthcare professionals a structured way to examine these interconnected factors.
Across six days, participants will work through focused learning content, clinically relevant situations and assessment questions with detailed explanations. The programme also addresses supportive positioning, recognition of concerning feeding signs and the importance of appropriate escalation.
Six days • Twenty minutes a day • Fully online
