I recently had the privilege of attending the 9th Annual National Symposium on Women’s Mental Health 2025, held at the Punjab Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS), Jalandhar.
The event was organized by the Women’s Mental Health Specialty Section of the Indian Psychiatric Society (IPS) in collaboration with PUNCIPS and the Doaba Psychiatric Forum. This year’s theme — “Challenges to Women’s Mental Health Beyond the Diagnostic Manuals” — focused on exploring women’s mental health from broader, real-life perspectives beyond textbook definitions.
It was truly inspiring to engage with fellow psychiatrists and mental health professionals from across India, sharing insights, experiences, and approaches that can make a real difference in women’s emotional wellbeing.
As a Consultant Psychiatrist and Founder of Mathis Mind Care, Coimbatore, I remain deeply committed to advancing awareness, empathy, and holistic care in the field of women’s mental health.
