A gratifying visit to Europe for a prestigious international interventional cardiology meeting. We had good representation of Indian studies, including a Hot Line Session where we presented our data challenging bypass surgery in diabetic patients with multiple vessel disease. This is an ongoing study of 1800 patients with follow-up yearly up to 5 years. Besides this, we showcased data of an Indian new generation drug-eluting stent, ETERNIA, in 1000 all-comer patients. Details of the visit in the vibrant city of Paris, where the Euro PCR annual teaching course is hosted, are covered in the leading newspaper of Kashmir. Link provided:

World Hypertension Day and its implications

17 th May is the world hypertension day . High BP is a global problem and the most important risk factor for getting heart attacks , strokes and chronic kidney disease . The solution can not be individualistic it has to be a combined effort of the society the health care workers and the administration at all levels .

One third adult population has it and half of team are unaware of it . For those who are aware of it less than half have a proper control .

Need to go through my write up on this to understand the gravity of the problem .
