For two years, I’ve waited for the day I could step out of college, take my degree, and enter the real world as a therapist but wow, saying goodbye is so much harder than I thought! 🥺
Like any true college experience, it was a complete love-hate relationship. I definitely won’t miss the last-minute assignment panic or the endless exam stress, but my heart is just so incredibly full of gratitude today. ❤️

I’m beyond grateful to my professors who stood by me, no matter what happened, supported and cherished me, every day, even when they weren’t feeling the best, thank you all🫂❤️

College was about so much more than just the classroom for me. From starting as Content Head to stepping up as President of both the ‘wEvolve’ psychology club and the Placement Cell, to coordinating events like Autism Awareness
Day, it’s been a beautiful whirlwind of growth. 🌱💪

But let’s be real, I couldn’t have survived any of this without my absolute lifelines , .19 , and . Thank you for keeping me sane, keeping me motivated, and laughing with me through it all. I wouldn’t have made it to the finish line without you guys. 🫶

With a heavy heart, I’m saying goodbye to . But with that exact same heart, I am SO ready and excited for whatever comes next. Here’s to new beginnings and officially stepping into my era as a Counselling Psychologist! 🥂🧠✨

8 years ago, when I started solo travelling, I never thought that I would someday write a dissertation around it. I was working on building resilience in myself, looking for how to feel more empowered and just understand how it felt to pick up my bags and leave home, a safe environment and trek the Himalayas.

This is for my mom and dad, who have held their breath every time I was on a solo trip and have prayed for my happiness and safety. And Hardik ( ) who made sure nobody in the family loses their mind when I’m away. I wouldn’t have been able to take a single trip if it wasn’t for you three. Thank you, I love you. 🫂❤️

I defended my master’s dissertation, “Navigating Rish and Self-Perception: A Mixed-Methods Study of Emotional Regulation and Empowerment among Female Solo Mountain Trekkers in India.” This research allowed me to dive deep into the psychology of solo trekking and mental resilience, but the journey of writing this was a trek in its own unique way, and I honestly couldn’t have reached the summit without the incredible support that I had.

I am immensely grateful to Dr. Aanchal Chaudhary (refuses to make an account on Instagram), Aaradhya Sharma ( )and Dr. Rati Khurana (.ratikjain ) for being the most supportive faculty since Day 1 at IILM University, Gurugram, it’s because of you that I have been able to do what I do and if it wasn’t for your love, support and push, I wouldn’t have come this far. I’m thankful not just for this, but so many other things I can’t even write.

Yash () thank you for listening to my solo trip stories and my endless cries when I talked about dissertation and being patient throughout this process. 🫂❤️

Aishna ( ) Varis (.19 ) and Yashasvie ( ) I don’t know how two years flew by, but I am grateful that you were a part of it. ❤️🧿

I’m excited to take the insights from my study into my practice and upcoming roles :)

A full-circle moment at my parent’s school.

Last week, I had the privilege of returning to the environment where my parents have dedicated most of their time and career. This time, I wasn’t there as a visitor, but as a speaker.

I was invited to address the parents and faculty during their annual function on a topic that defines modern childhood: Digital Hygiene and the impact of smartphones on developing minds.

These days, I am increasingly concerned by the profound impact of “constant connectivity” on the cognitive and emotional development of children. During my talk, I shifted the focus from a simple “phones are bad for kids” narrative toward a more sustainable model of intentional parenting.

We discussed:

- Protecting cognitive development from over-stimulation.

- The psychological “cost” of replaced social interactions.

- Building a family culture of digital boundaries.

Thank you to Muskan Kids’ World ( ) for the warm welcome. It was an honor to contribute to the community that has been such a big part of my family’s story.

Also, no event can be successful if you don’t have the right team working with you, a special thanks to Aishna Chaudhry, Varis Wadhwa and Hardik Bagga for all the coordination and hard work that made the Annual function a HUGE success!

Stepping outside the usual frameworks to dive headfirst into the world of ambiguity. 🌫️🦋
I recently completed an intensive two-day workshop on the Rorschach Projective Psychological Test led by Dr. Atul Kumar, and my brain is still buzzing!
There is no tool that embodies “navigating the unspoken” quite like the Rorschach. Learning the art and science behind administering and scoring these inkblots gave me a profound appreciation for how uniquely every single mind organizes reality.
It’s not just about what a client sees; it’s about how they see it. 🧠✨
Moving past the theory to actually practice the administration, rigorous scoring, and clinical interpretation was challenging but deeply rewarding. As I wrap up my Master’s, adding this to my clinical toolkit feels like a significant step forward in my training.
Incredibly grateful to Dr. Deepika Kushwaha for coordinating this workshop so seamlessly, and to Dr. Aanchal Chaudhary for her support throughout!

very grateful 🙏🏻❤️

Thrilled to share that I’ve successfully completed the Four-Day In-Person Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) Training by the Beck Institute for Cognitive Behavior Therapy ( ), organized by the Indian Association for Cognitive Behaviour Therapy ( ).

This experience was particularly special because, in addition to participating as a learner, I also had the privilege of helping coordinate the entire workshop. Balancing the behind-the-scenes logistics while absorbing evidence-based insights from Dr. Allen Miller (Executive Director, Beck Institute) was an intense but deeply rewarding challenge.

As a master’s student studying counseling psychology, gaining this dual perspective, facilitating a major professional event while building my clinical foundation has been an incredible milestone and I look forward to putting the knowledge I’ve gained to good use in my journey as a counselling psychologist.

A huge thank you to the Dr Nimisha Kumar, PhD for trusting me with this responsibility, and to Dr. Allen Miller for the enriching and engaging four days!

I’d also like to thank Dr. Rati Khurana ( .ratikjain ) and Aishna Chaudhry ( .co ) for all your help, and endless support. I’m forever grateful. 😊

In my last post I wrote, the week was full of insights and learning.
It was also a little about gaining confidence and winning!
I along with my co author Aishna wrote a paper “The Silent Revolution: Experiences of Non-Clinical Young Adults Using CBT-Based Self-Help Tools on Digital Platforms” under the guidance of Dr. Rati Khurana.
We presented it at International Conference on Cognitive Behavioural Interventions 2026 in university of Calcutta and not only did we just present, WE WON THE BEST PAPER!🫶🏻🙏🏻

I had the most important people sitting in front of me, who I didn’t want to let down at all. And hopefully I didn’t. Dr Nimisha Kumar, PhD thank you for all your encouragement and faith in me. Professor Rachel Tribe and Ken Sir for making sure I was feeling okay before my first presentation and for sitting throughout the presentations to cheer me on just by being there.

This award is dedicated to Dr. Rati Khurana because if it wasn’t for her, I wouldn’t have started writing this paper at all. She told me back in November 2025 itself that I needed to write a paper no matter what. Sometimes it’s the faith of someone else that pushes your limits, and I’ll always be grateful to her.

Last week was filled with insights and knowledge.

Dr. Rati Khurana gave a workshop on positive CBT, and I tried to learn as much as I possibly could in those 3 hours.

In the beginning she asked everyone what our expectations were from the workshop?
And I said, “I wish to learn and note down everything I can just like I do in college.” And that’s exactly what I did.

It’s incredibly grateful to be a part of such workshops that help you think in various ways of how your journey as a therapist should look like and how it should unfold.

Indian Association for Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (IACBT) thank you for organizing this!

This week, I didn’t just witness history being made; I had the privilege of being a small part of it.

While volunteering at the inauguration of the 1st International Mental Health Policy Summit and the installation ceremony of ISMHAA, I had the incredible opportunity to hear from and speak with Arthur C. Evans, CEO of the APA (American Psychological Association).

His words truly shifted the energy in the room. He reminded a hall full of psychologists that our work cannot stop at “talking” about mental health. We must move forward to “doing” - creating tangible changes that exist outside the four walls of a therapy room.

When he asked the audience what we would do if we were handed the responsibility of national mental health policy, it stopped me in my tracks. It made me realize just how much work lies ahead and how crucial it is to bridge the gap between clinical practice and public policy.

I also has the opportunity to listen to Dr. Ann Vernon, and Dr. Rainer Kurz share their insights.

Heartiest congratulations and thanks to .agrawal for creating a platform that will lay a foundation for a transformative mental health movement with collaboration, awareness, empathy compassion and most important of all, positive CHANGE.

I can’t thank enough for trusting me and for being there throughout the event to support me. It wouldn’t have been possible without her and I am truly forever grateful to ma’am for this wonderful, special opportunity.

And, .ratikjain for inspiring me, and for always pushing me towards greatness, you’re truly a star, and there are no words to thank you for everything you do.

It was a powerful reminder of the responsibility we hold as future professionals in this field. Grateful for the learning, the networking, and the inspiration to think bigger.

When you give up the simplest pleasures in life, that are also a necessity, you give up power, and when you give up power, you lose.
Sleep is one of the most essential and calming part of the day, if you don’t get proper sleep, you’ll be cranky for most part of the day, and it’s only get worse with every hour. Making your sleep a priority isn’t a problem. Sleeping on time and focusing on yourself isn’t a problem.
Same is the concept with food. Whenever you’re hurt or angry or frustrated, giving up food isn’t an ideal option, because food will genuinely help you feel better. That’s why desserts are always a good idea. :)
You might be too hurt to sleep or eat, but whoever or whatever hurt you is peacefully doing whatever they want and have already moved on. You’re losing sleep and you’re ruining your food habits, HOW IS THAT GOING TO HELP ANYBODY?
It won’t. So, it’s better to stick to your routine, do what you love, sleep for 10 hours if you can and if your life style allows, eat good, healthy meals and NEVER, EVER GIVE UP FOOD OR SLEEP FOR ANYBODY, because no one is worth it.

Dear future me,
Today when I sit and reflect back at the time that I went through, I can’t believe I actually made it. It’s surprising and almost unbelievable that the entire world was suffering, it was extremely tough to even breathe on certain days, but somehow, by some crazy blessing, I made it.

Not only is it unexpected but also magical that today I sit in my house, look at the world, which finally got some peace, a world that finally understands that the power of love is truly greater than the love of power, something Jimi Hendrix tried to explain years ago, but today we truly understand it.

I can’t thank myself for being gentle, kind and loving, not just to others but also to myself, because everyone was going through something, but I had a lot of chaos within me. The journaling, reading, cooking, exercising, everything was so therapeutic, without known, it kept healing parts of me that I didn’t realize needed healing.

Thank you for being gentle to yourself, because more than anyone, you needed it too.

We’re always looking for 4 very important things from people around us. Those 4 things are, support, motivation, celebration and prayers.

1. Support – anyone and everyone can come for support but unless and until you’re willing to support yourself and do something for yourself, no support in the world will ever be enough. People might support you for days, weeks, even months, but unless you’re willing to support yourself, it wouldn’t matter.
2. Motivation – let’s just be completely honest, as hopeful it sounds to listen to motivational speakers, humanitarians, philanthropists, it’s only a matter of time, when you go back home, sit at the same place and watch that motivation drain right out of yourself. No one will come to you every day to motivate you. YOU WILL NEED TO MOTIVATE YOURSELF AND WORK ON YOURSELF. Be it your body, be it life goals, and be it your family, relationships, ANYTHING. No motivation from others should be motivation enough to truly work hard and achieve your dreams.
3. Celebration – more often than not, we wait to celebrate the little joys with others, sometimes they’re available, however, sometimes they aren’t, and what you can do is, speak highly of yourself, to yourself and celebrate yourself even if there’s no one around.
You woke up.
You tried.
You took a walk.
You cooked.
You helped.
You smiled.
CELEBRATE THAT.
4. Prayers – last but certainly not the least, pray for yourself. When you’re praying for everyone else, keep yourself in those prayers as well and take all the blessings, possible. It doesn’t matter who you pray to as long as you do it with all your heart.
You have a vibe, and the way you speak to yourself, matters. Your vibe could either make you, or break you, choose wisely.
