A long journey, one step at a time. 🌍🦴✨

Ms Noor Ihab Fadhil, a 13-year-old girl from Iraq with Pseudochondroplasia, underwent complex reconstructive surgery for deformities involving her hips, knees and feet.

Her treatment included correction of foot deformities, guided growth for lower-limb alignment and bilateral greater trochanter advancement to improve hip mechanics and movement.

She has now safely returned home to Iraq 🇮🇶✈️ and is continuing her recovery with braces, walker-assisted standing and a structured physiotherapy programme.

In this video, her father shares his experience and feedback about her treatment and recovery, while I explain her condition, the surgery performed and the long-term rehabilitation plan. 🙏😊

Her recovery will continue gradually over the coming months, with regular physiotherapy, gait training and X-ray monitoring of guided growth. The aim is simple — better alignment, better movement, better walking and a more active future. 💪🦵💚

In January 26, I had the opportunity to visit NYU Langone Health, one of the most respected academic medical centres in the world.

For me, such visits are not just about seeing a hospital building — they are about understanding systems, precision, teamwork, surgical planning, rehabilitation pathways, research culture, and long-term patient care.

Every international academic visit adds something valuable:
better judgement, sharper planning, safer surgery, and a broader vision for children who need advanced orthopaedic care.

The goal remains simple — to bring global standards of pediatric orthopaedic care closer to children and families in India and across the world.

This child had bilateral Developmental Dysplasia of the Hip — DDH, where both hips were dislocated since birth.

For a growing child, both hips are the foundation for standing, walking, balance, posture, and confidence. When both hips remain dislocated, it can affect walking mechanics, limb alignment, comfort, and long-term hip function.
