Hi, I am Dr. Nikhil Phogat from Second Life Rehabilitation & De-Addiction Centre.
In today’s video, I want to talk about something very important—addiction, and how it slowly takes control of a person’s life.
Many people think addiction is just a habit, something that can be stopped anytime. But in reality, addiction is a progressive condition. It doesn’t happen suddenly—it develops step by step. In the beginning, it may seem like a small or occasional behaviour, and a person feels they are in control.
However, over time, this behaviour gradually turns into a need. The most concerning part is that this change happens silently, and the person often doesn’t realise when dependency starts.
As addiction grows, it begins to affect every part of life. A person may disconnect from themselves and slowly distance from their loved ones. This leads to emotional stress, loneliness, and social isolation.
At Second Life Rehabilitation & De-Addiction Centre, we regularly see how unnoticed addiction can become until it starts damaging relationships and overall well-being. That is why awareness and early recognition are extremely important.
Addiction should be taken seriously. With the right support, care, and environment, recovery is possible. Taking the first step at the right time can truly change a person’s life.
