Acl live surgery.

Acl ligament should be treated like an emergency ( as a fracture) and not be delayed as it alters the biomechanics of the knee and makes your knee meniscus and cartilage at risk of damage.

Complete tear of ACL warrants a surgical repair/ reconstruction.

Grafts are harvested from your body and bone tunnels are made in femur and tibia bone through which the graft is passed and fixed with either screws or suspensory devices.

Patient can resume weight bearing from the very next day with gradual rehab and eventually return to full blown athletic activity in 6 months.

Acl reconstruction can be done using many grafts:-
1. PTB graft
2. Hamstrings
3. peroneus longue
4. quadriceps tendon
&
5. synthetic ligaments

Some surgeons are routinely using synthetic ligaments either alone or in combination with the body grafts for Acl reconstruction.

Mostly used in multi LIGAMENTS injuries , they offer good strength , specially in early phases.

There long term results are almost comparable , some studies suggesting some complications though like synovitis, loosening, cyst formation.

The use is totally dependant on the surgeon and patient preference.

Tennis elbow, medically known as lateral epicondylitis, is a painful condition caused by overusing the tendons in your elbow.

It occurs when the tendons that connect your forearm muscles to the bony bump on the outside of your elbow become inflamed or develop microscopic tears due to repetitive motions.

Despite its name, fewer than 5% of cases are actually caused by playing tennis. Most people develop it from everyday activities or jobs involving repetitive gripping and twisting, such as painting, plumbing, or typing.

Common Symptoms
Symptoms usually develop gradually and may include:

Outside Elbow Pain: A sharp or burning sensation on the outer part of the elbow that can radiate down to the forearm and wrist.

Weakened Grip: Difficulty holding objects like a coffee mug, tools, or even a pen.

Difficulty with Daily Tasks: Pain when turning a doorknob, opening a jar, or shaking hands.

Stiffness: Increased discomfort or stiffness in the morning or after periods of rest.

Treatment Options
Most cases (up to 95%) improve with conservative, non-surgical treatment within 6 to 12 months.

Rest and Activity Modification: The first and most important step is to stop or change the activities that trigger the pain
RICE Method: Resting and applying ice for 15 minutes several times a day to reduce inflammation.

Physical Therapy: Specific stretching and strengthening exercises for the forearm muscles are considered the cornerstone of long-term recovery.

Bracing: A counterforce brace or forearm strap can take pressure off the injured tendon.

Medication: Over-the-counter anti-inflammatories (NSAIDs) like ibuprofen can help manage pain.Advanced Treatments: If conservative methods fail, doctors may suggest corticosteroid shots, platelet-rich plasma (PRP) injections, or rarely, surgery.

Prevention Tips

Strengthen Forearm Muscles: Regular exercises can help tendons withstand more stress.

Use Proper Technique: Ensure correct form in sports or ergonomic setups at work to minimize strain.

Take Breaks: Avoid prolonged repetitive movements by taking regular rests.Warm Up: Always stretch and warm up before any activity that uses your forearm muscles.
