Pitru Paksha is not just about rituals, it is about remembering the roots we come from. It is believed that during these days, our ancestors visit us and look towards their descendants for offerings and respect. When Shradh, Tarpan, or Pind Daan is performed, their souls find peace and in return they bless us. But when these rituals are ignored, the ancestors remain unsatisfied, and this energy shows up in our lives as struggles, obstacles, or what we know as Pitra Dosh.
From an astrological point of view, Rahu has a deep connection with our ancestors. In a birth chart, Rahu often represents desires we strongly chase in this life, but many of these desires are not only ours , they are linked to unfulfilled wishes of our ancestors.

Bhagwan Ganesha is always remembered as the one who removes obstacles and opens the path to prosperity and abundance. His presence is not only symbolic of material success but also of inner clarity, because real prosperity can only come when the mind is free from confusion. In astrology, Ganesha bhagwan is often associated with Mercury, the planet of wisdom, intellect, and learning. Just as Mercury governs education and communication.

Bhagwan Ganesha is also deeply connected to Ketu. Ketu is the planet of detachment, cutting away the illusions of maya and forcing us to see the ultimate truth of life. Where Mercury gives us knowledge of the world, Ketu gives us liberation from it. Ganesha holds both of these energies within Himself, guiding us through worldly duties while also preparing us for spiritual freedom.

This connection becomes clearer when we look at the Mooladhara, or root chakra. The root chakra is the foundation of our being, the place where both our weaknesses and our deepest strength are stored. It governs stability, survival, fears, and the life-force energy that keeps us grounded. Bhagwan Ganesha is the presiding deity of this chakra, and Ketu is also linked to it. When the root chakra is blocked, we live in fear, insecurity, and confusion. But when it opens, we experience the true essence of life. Ganesha ji is the one who removes the dhua, the smoke that clouds our vision, and clears the way for our energy to flow freely, allowing us to step onto the real path of truth.

This is why Ganesha Chaturthi comes before Pitru Paksha. Pitru Paksha is the sacred time when we connect with our ancestors, and in astrology, this connection is signified by Rahu. The blessings and unresolved karmas of the Pitru flow through Rahu, but Rahu itself is illusion, fog, and entanglement. Unless the root chakra is purified and the mind is cleared, we cannot truly connect with our ancestors or receive their blessings. Ganesha’s festival prepares us for this by opening the energy channels, clearing the obstacles, and removing the inner darkness. Only then, in Pitru Paksha, are we able to honor the Pitrus and allow their blessings to flow to us.

The significance is even deeper when we think about the continuity of generations. The blessings of the Pitrus are what ensure the well-being of the coming generation. If the root chakra is blocked, the flow of energy to future lineage is also blocked. But when bhagwan Ganesha removes the obstacles and restores balance, the grace of the ancestors flows smoothly, blessing not only us but also the children and generations to come.

Thus, Ganesha Chaturthi before Pitru Paksha is not a coincidence. It is a spiritual sequence first the remover of smoke clears our vision, then we can connect with our ancestors, and finally, their blessings continue through our lineage. Ganesha bhagwan is the bridge between wisdom and liberation, between the seen and the unseen, between us and our roots.

This Ganesh Chaturthi, remember that Bappa’s true blessing is not just in removing outer hurdles but in clearing inner blockages of fear and desire. Ask not only for success, but for wisdom, clarity, and enlightenment the wealth that lasts for generations.

Check out my analysis on the Sun’s transit into Cancer, also known as the Cancer Solar Ingress, a key chart in mundane astrology.
This month, the Sun enters Cancer on 16th July at 5:20 PM (Delhi).
The ascendant of this chart is Sagittarius, a warrior sign that stands for dharma, justice, and bold action, even if it leads to conflict or war.
Its ruler, Jupiter, is in Atichari (fast motion) and placed in the house of war, foreign affairs, and international disputes.
Jupiter in Ardra Nakshatra indicates that India is heading towards a period of intense transformation, possibly marked by chaos, emotional storms, or bold national decisions.
