Two back-to-back POEM (Peroral Endoscopic Myotomy) procedures were successfully completed by Dr. Adil Farooq Malik in the Department of Gastroenterology, Hepatobiliary & Pancreatic Sciences at HCMCT Manipal Hospitals, Dwarka, New Delhi

A case of duodenal neuroendocrine tumor was successfully managed at HCMCT Manipal Hospitals, Dwarka using Endoscopic Submucosal Dissection (ESD)—an advanced therapeutic endoscopic technique.
ESD enables precise en bloc resection (removal in a single piece) of early-stage tumors and abnormal gastrointestinal lesions, avoiding the need for open surgery and preserving organ integrity.

Following tumor removal, clip-loop closure was effectively performed to ensure secure defect closure and reduce the risk of complications.

This advanced, minimally invasive procedure was successfully carried out by Dr. Sanjay Khanna, Dr. Adil Farooq Malik and team, marking a significant milestone in therapeutic endoscopy at HCMCT Manipal Hospitals, Dwarka.

A case of corrosive esophageal stricture with gastric outlet obstruction. Weight loss around 11 kg in 35 days. Procedure was done by Dr Adil Farooq Malik at HCMCT Manipal Hospitals Dwarka shows tight esophageal stricture. Ultra thin scope could not be negotiated across. Stricture was dilated with SG dilator up to 8mm. After dilatation ultra thin scope passed across the stricture in to the stomach.
Stomach wall shows scaring with pyloric stricture. Significant food residue seen. Guide wire passed across the pyloric stricture to place a freka tube in to the duodenum.
We dilated the pyloric stricture with 10mm CRE balloon under endoscopic guidance using ultra thin scope because we do not want to dilate esophageal stricture more the 8mm in 1st setting. Finally after CRE balloon dilation freka tube placed in to the duodenum.

Dr Sanjay Khanna & team successfully treated 4 patients of Achalasia cardia with POEM procedure this month at Fortis Hospital Shalimar Bagh.

POEM is a form of natural or***ce transluminal endoscopic surgery that is completed by creating a submucosal tunnel in the lower part of esophagus to reach the inner circular muscle bundles of the LES to perform myotomy, while preserving the outer longitudinal muscle bundle.
Achalasia cardia का सबसे आम लक्षण निगलने में कठिनाई है। मरीजों को अक्सर ऐसा महसूस होता है कि निगला गया पदार्थ, ठोस और तरल दोनों, छाती में फंस गया है। मरीज जो कुछ भी खाता है वह कुछ मिनट या कुछ घंटो मे उल्टी के द्वारा बाहर आ जाता है। यह समस्या अक्सर धीरे-धीरे शुरू होती है और धीरे-धीरे बढ़ती जाती है। इससे मरीज का वजन कम होने व शरीर में कमज़ोरी आने लगती है। अगर किसी को ये सिम्प्टॉम है तो संपर्क करे।

This patient having UGI bleed and malena. UGI endoscopy done by Dr Adil Farooq shows active duodenal ulcer with visible vessel which was actively bleeding. Bleeding has been stopped after application of a hemoclip.
