Gall stones in fetus in late third trimester
Can be an incidental finding.
Usually a benign, self-limiting finding.
Most reported cases have:
* Normal fetal growth
* Normal liver and gallbladder morphology
* Spontaneous resolution during infancy
* No long-term consequence.
Occasionally can be associated with conditions such as
*Maternal diabetes
*Rh incompatibility/hemolysis
* Cystic fibrosis
* Congenital infections and TPN exposure, but in an otherwise normal fetus it is usually isolated and idiopathic.
