A shoulder that clicks, pops, or feels unstable doesn’t always need more stretching — it often needs better control. 💪🏼

In today’s session we’re focusing on:
✔️ Reflexive stability training
✔️ Coordinated muscle activation
✔️ Scapular control & strength
✔️ Dynamic shoulder stability drills

The goal isn’t perfection — it’s building a shoulder that feels strong, connected, and confident again. 🔥

If your shoulder feels weak, noisy, or unpredictable… stability work can completely change the game.

Lateral ulnar glide with gripping (Mulligan MWM technique) is a commonly used manual therapy intervention to improve elbow function and enable pain-free gripping in patients with lateral epicondylalgia (“tennis elbow”).
How it might work: the exact mechanism remains unclear.
Leading hypotheses:
It improves joint alignment and elbow mechanics.
It modifies the length–tension relationships of the elbow flexors and extensors.
It allows more efficient muscle activation, often resulting in measurable gains in grip strength.
Clinical note: This is one of the most impressive mobilizations I’ve learned—practical, effective, and sometimes feels almost like the closest thing PTs have to “voodoo magic.

Prone Instability Test:
The prone instability test is used to assess lumbar instability. Its purpose is to determine whether activation of the trunk stabilizers (+ increase of intra-abdominal pressure “IAP”) reduces low back pain. Procedure:
Place the patient prone with their hips on the table and feet on the floor. The therapist applies a PA to individual segments. If pain is reproduced from the PA, ask the patient to lift their legs slightly off the floor, activating the deep trunk musculature and increasing intra abdominal pressure.
Interpretation of results:
-Positive: Pain decreases with leg lift( suggests lumbar instability). -Negative: No change in symptoms. Clinical tip: The arms should be positioned in a slackened, not tension position (i.e., wrapped around the table, rather than lengthened overhead), as tensioning them may increase stability produced by the lats through the thoracolumbar fascia.
