Meet Dee McGrath from Galway, in the West of Ireland, as she shares how Transcendental Meditation has gently transformed her daily life.

For Dee, Transcendental Meditation is like having a best friend—something she can turn to anytime to relax, unwind, and simply enjoy. Amidst the flow of everyday life, it brings a natural sense of ease and a quiet joy that stays with her throughout the day.

One of the most beautiful changes she experienced was how life began to unfold in ways she could never have imagined. New adventures, meaningful connections, and unexpected opportunities came her way—even the chance to travel to India. It opened doors to experiences that once felt beyond reach, allowing life to move with greater flow and possibility.

What she cherishes most is the deep rest the practice provides. As someone who loves staying active—whether through sports, technology, or socializing—this deep rest becomes a powerful source of renewed energy. From that stillness arises enthusiasm, curiosity, and a vibrant sense of engagement that enriches every aspect of her daily activity.

Transcendental Meditation doesn’t slow you down—it energises and uplifts your experience of life.

✨ Deep rest
✨ Renewed energy
✨ Joy in everyday living
✨ Life unfolding naturally

And her simple message to anyone considering it: just do it.

✨ True fulfillment is not found in constant achievement or external success — it begins from within.

As consciousness expands, the mind experiences deeper peace, greater clarity, and a stronger connection with life’s true purpose. In that state of inner calm, happiness flows more naturally, relationships become more meaningful, and life feels more balanced. 🌿

Through the regular practice of Transcendental Meditation, we can access this quieter level of awareness and bring more harmony into our daily lives. ✨

Take a moment to pause, reflect, and reconnect with your inner self. 🧘

Physical training develops strength, speed, and endurance — but peak performance depends on much more than the body alone. In today’s demanding world, many athletes and high performers discover that despite rigorous practice, the mind often remains under pressure, distracted, or fatigued. Modern research shows that accumulated stress in the nervous system can reduce clarity, focus, coordination, and overall performance. ✨

On World Athletics Day, it is important to recognize that true excellence is not created by effort alone, but by the ability to function from a state of inner balance and stability. 🍃

Transcendental Meditation is a simple, natural, and effortless technique that allows the mind to settle inward beyond activity, while the body gains a unique state of deep rest. This profound rest helps dissolve accumulated stress and fatigue from the nervous system, supporting greater resilience, mental clarity, creativity, and efficiency in action. ⚡️

Research has shown that regular practice of Transcendental Meditation helps reduce stress and promote balanced functioning of mind and body. When the mind is calm, alert, and centered, performance becomes more spontaneous, energy is used more efficiently, and action becomes more precise and effective. 🧘

This World Athletics Day, go beyond physical training. Cultivate the inner strength from which true performance, endurance, and excellence naturally arise.

The breath and the mind share a deep and continuous relationship, each influencing the other in subtle yet powerful ways. When the mind is calm and settled, the breath naturally becomes slow, steady, and effortless. But when stress, anxiety, or emotional strain arise, breathing often turns shallow, irregular, and constricted—disturbing the body’s natural rhythm. 🧘‍♂️

Over time, this imbalance can impact overall well-being, especially for those dealing with respiratory challenges. While medical care plays a vital role, supporting the mind is equally important in creating a more balanced internal environment. 🍃

Transcendental Meditation offers a simple, natural, and effortless technique that allows the mind to settle beyond active thinking into a state of deep rest. In this state, the body gains profound relaxation, stress levels reduce, and the nervous system begins to function more coherently. As the system stabilizes, breathing patterns can also become more regular, smooth, and relaxed. ✨

It is important to note that Transcendental Meditation does not replace medical treatment, but it can serve as a powerful complementary practice—supporting both mental calmness and physiological balance. By addressing stress at its root, it helps create the conditions for healthier functioning across mind and body. ✨

When the mind settles deeply, the breath follows naturally—becoming softer, steadier, and more free. 🌿

When we meditate morning and evening, we begin to cultivate a more flexible and resilient nervous system—one that can adapt effortlessly to changing situations and environmental influences. As Maharishi Mahesh Yogi explains, this regular practice strengthens our ability to remain balanced and stable, no matter what is happening around us. 🧘‍♂️

Through the practice of Transcendental Meditation, the mind naturally settles into a state of deep rest. This rest is far deeper than ordinary relaxation, allowing accumulated stress and fatigue to dissolve from the system. With this twice-daily experience, the body and mind become more refined in their functioning, leading to greater clarity, improved decision-making, and a calmer, more composed response to daily challenges.
Over time, this consistency builds a strong foundation within. Instead of reacting to situations, we begin to respond with awareness and ease. Life may continue to move fast on the outside, but internally there is greater stability, adaptability, and quiet confidence. ✨

A flexible nervous system is not built overnight—it is developed through regular experience of inner silence. And with Transcendental Meditation, this becomes a simple, natural, and effortless part of everyday life. 🌿

Meet Raju Datla, a physicist whose journey with Transcendental Meditation began in 1975—and continues with unwavering consistency to this day.

After completing his PhD in physics from the University of Maryland, College Park, Raju learned TM and experienced an immediate shift in his mindset. Since then, he has practiced regularly—20 minutes in the morning and evening—without missing a single day. For him, TM is a simple, natural way to gain deep rest and maintain clarity in daily life.

So profound was his experience that he encouraged his entire family to learn the technique. Today, multiple generations in his family practice TM and continue to benefit from it.
After a 35-year career at the National Institute of Standards and Technology, Raju became a certified TM teacher in 2024, with a clear mission—to bring this knowledge to the Indian diaspora facing stress and fast-paced lifestyles abroad.

According to him, Transcendental Meditation is effortless and deeply effective, allowing the mind to settle inward and experience a quieter, more powerful state of awareness.

His message is simple: When the mind is deeply rested, life becomes clearer, calmer, and more fulfilling.

A 5-day Transcendental Meditation course was successfully conducted for students of Classes 6 to 9 at ZPHS, Majjivalasa (near Visakhapatnam) in March 2026. 🧘🏼‍♀️

Guided by Certified TM Teacher Anil G, students were instructed in the practice. Combined with an earlier batch conducted in November last year, a majority of students in the school have now learnt Transcendental Meditation—a truly remarkable milestone. ✨

The response from the students has been deeply encouraging. They shared feeling more energetic, focused, and alert in their studies, along with a greater sense of calmness, relaxation, and better sleep. Such feedback reflects the natural and effortless benefits of this technique as brought to the world by Maharishi Mahesh Yogi. 🙏

A special highlight was the group meditation of the students, creating a powerful and harmonious collective experience. Heartfelt appreciation to Headmistress Padmaja for her wholehearted support and for agreeing to continue regular group meditation in the school. She has also expressed interest in extending this knowledge to all teachers and incoming students in the next academic year.

This initiative was made possible with the kind support of Raju Datla, whose contribution helped bring this valuable knowledge to young minds.

This initiative is a beautiful step toward creating a more balanced, focused, and joyful generation, demonstrating how consciousness-based education can uplift not just individuals, but entire communities. ⚛

Intrusive thoughts during meditation are often misunderstood. Many people sit down expecting immediate silence, only to find their mind becoming more active—drifting into memories, worries, or even past experiences. This can create the impression that something is going wrong, or that they are unable to meditate properly.

In a thoughtful discussion on The Healthsite, Dr Tony Nader offers a deeper perspective, explaining that the mind is not meant to be forced into silence. In fact, its natural tendency is to move toward what it finds more engaging or appealing. Just as one might be reading a book yet become effortlessly drawn to music playing nearby, the mind spontaneously shifts toward greater charm.

When we try to control or suppress thoughts, the mind resists. Effort creates strain, and strain prevents the very calm we seek. This is where Transcendental Meditation offers a fundamentally different approach. Rather than concentrating or forcing the mind to focus, it works in harmony with the mind’s nature. By gently providing a subtler and more attractive direction, the mind naturally settles inward—without effort.

This process is simple, yet profound. It allows the mind to move beyond surface activity—beyond thoughts, memories, and mental noise—into a state of deep rest and inner quiet. There is no need to fight the mind or silence it. Like a honeybee that settles when it finds something more appealing, the mind, too, comes to rest when given the right direction.

Over time, this effortless settling not only reduces stress but also brings clarity, emotional balance, and a more stable inner awareness. What initially appears as distraction is not a failure of meditation, but a reflection of how the mind functions. When understood correctly, it becomes the very pathway to deeper silence.

The key to meditation is not in controlling the mind—but in allowing it to follow its natural tendency toward stillness. Tony Nader MD, PhD, MARR
